I get the feeling these fancy Evos are for posing and for short drag runs?!?
I sound like you´re angry ... why??? ... I´m just trying to discuss something ...

This forum was really nice until now ...

By the way, I live near the equator and track temps are usually 32-35C.
Is your oil temp. 20C below you watertemp when your oiltemp. is 120-125C ??? ... then you should have 140-145C watertemp ... is that right???

Jocce,

Sorry, meant to say that my oil temp is typically 15-20C ABOVE my water temp.

I would send a photo of my oil/water/exhaust temp gauges, but I don't have a digital camera. After 4-5 laps on the track, oil is 120C, water is 100C, exhaust is 750-800C.

Please remember, where I live average temp. is 30-34C, all year

Ofcourse you have the "right" working temp. if you have the "right" thermo installed ...

I am not angry but worried. Giving such silly information about oil temperatures, one starts to wonder.............

JoCCe,

Don't let it get to you man. People here are just trying to help. It is better to hear the opinion and comments of others rather than just the tuning shop. In fact, this is one of the nicest forums around

JoCCe, nobody is angry, but the oiltemp thing REALLY is nonsense, I've driven my Evo even in minus degrees also and it doesn't get too cold, period. Evo's actually run quite hot compared to other engines, as you should see from the heat emitting from the hood vent when you stand at lights f.e.. The oil could be cooler in the dipstick because there it is probably cooled through the thin tube that it's in, even my dipstick doesn't get boiling hot, just warm, but touch the oilsump, then you know how hot the oil really is. And don't be a drama-queen, just because some people don't agree with your opinion, this is nothing personal. I promise, you'll realise if it ever would get personal, so no hard feelings, cause there aren't any.

I've got quite a lot of work to do at the moment, so haven't checked completely, but so far it looks like it doesn't have one...

So far so good ... I wasn´t totally wrong then ... ... the results from the oiltempgauge will be interesting ... The car that will use it is an EVO 6 black diamond with approx. 475-500bhp and a stock oilcooler ...

JoCCe,
You may have stated this before and I may have not been paying attention but, what kind and size turbo are you running?

Jocce,

475-500bhp on a stock oil cooler? Wow, you guys are lucky, my car would blow-up under the heat here.

By the way, I believe my oil cooler also has a fan

I think I have the problem, the guys who said the car was running 30-40 degrees oiltemp had stuck the oilsensor up their ***!!! Seriously, if the sensor is connected properly, it will show the operating temp, which will be a LOT higher than 30-40 degrees
