super glue

here's the situation, i accidently spilled super glue on the truck of my evo. i tried everything to get it off. it's about an "1 to "1 1/2 streak. any suggestions on how to get it off without harming the paint job. i tried goo-gone, armorall, i even tried wax it won't come off. i'm afraid if i us a hard cloth i will scratch the paint any advice or suggetions will definetly be helpful thanks in advance and god bless

OMG that sucks! Back in the day when I wanted to get superglue off of model cars, I'd use nail polish remover (acetone-base) -- but that WILL mess up your paint. If you try it, just be patient and dab the area with a cloth until it dissolves.

You could try hot soapy water and WD40, but I'm not sure how effective that'll be.

Good luck!

Brake parts cleaner, or carb cleaner will work fine to remove the glue, just dont scrub hard. If you dont want to do that, use a scratch remover product from the local auto store, it's gentle on paint and doubles as scratch remover, hehe.

Acetone should remove the superglue (that's what they recommend for first aid to un-stick body parts). Get it at a paint supply or hardware store. Fingernail polish will work in a pinch, but usually contains stuff other than acetone that may not be the best for your paint.

Use it sparingly and dont rub too hard and you shouldn't damage the paint. Be very, very careful, if you see any paint on your rag, stop immediately and rinse the area off with lots of water. Make sure you re-wax the car when you are done.
