Thumbs up First time at the tracks!! Impressed

Well I've only had the car for about 2 months and our track just opened so I figured I'd go test it out. It was mid 50's out and the track is at 2300ft. My car is an '03 with the mods in my sig and the boost at 21psi.

My first run I bogged bad and ran a 13.21@108 with a 2.31 60ft. Well during eliminations I ended up breaking out on a 12.65 dial in, ran a 12.53@100.69 with a 1.73 60ft, mph is so low cause I let off a good 150ft before the end.
Finally second to the last run of the day a pulled a 12.34@108 with a 1.68 60ft!!
This is my first time racing a turbo or AWD car, needless to say I am very pleased with the cars performance with the minimal mods.

There was also a Supra running 12.3's with a bigger intercooler, boost at 17psi, computer flash, intake, and full exhaust. And an STI with an exhaust, and boost controller set at 17psi that was running 12.9's.

Sorry so long but I am so excited, I was expecting high 12's or low 13's, I JUST LOVE THIS CAR!!! BTW I have pics if someone wants me to e-mail them to them so they can post it.

That's a NASTY ET with only 108 mph. Please post the timeslip when you can. Best I've _ever_ done on 108mph is 12.45. Great job on the 60'. I just wish I had known about the '05 5k rev limit disabler yesterday so I could have cut some 60's like that instead of 1.92...

You don't have an aftermarket clutch listed. I assume you have one...?

It is amazing how the car launches, like being on one of those accelerator roller coasters. I just wish we had better gas here, might have to get some race gas next time.
Oops, forgot the clutch, thanks for catching that .

With race gas, you could turn up the boost a few more psi and probably gain a few mph. The only problem is you can't tune the car on race gas since you are flashed, but I don't think it will big a big deal. I can change my settings on the AFC when I throw in race gas to optimize at the track, but I haven't done it on the EVO yet.

Does anyone know why my trap speed is so low? Most people running low 12's are trapping 110-113. Anyone have any suggestions on where to go from here or tips on improving my times, like I said I'm new to racing cars like this. Thanks.

You both need to show me your timeslips. Those MPH do not match the ETs, even with great driving, unless the suspension difference between EVOs and DSMs makes a bigger difference than I realize. I just wasn't able to get my own read on the actual ET/MPH ratios since I couldn't launch with the 5k rev limiter. Maybe if I hit a 1.68 and get a 12.7@104 with the limiter removed, then I'll change my mind, but I won't know until I go back out to the track.

Wow very good time, you are a natural when it comes to drag racing, a 12.3 with a 108 Trap, is awesome driving skills.

It is very possible to hit low 12s with that trap speed, especially when you cut 1.6 60FT times. Your trap speed is low, well because honestly you don't really have that many mods. Most people would hit mid to high 12s with yor mods or worst, but most won't cut 1.6 60FTs either. Like I said, your a natural when it comes to drag racing. This is just my opinion.
