New Arrival Dates
New Arrival Dates
Yep the dates have been pushed back till 13 march 03 for all deliveries for the Evo's
Dam this is getting really tiring really fast
On the side note i went to the mitsu dealer today for evo brochure and this guy bought a yellow evo for $10,000 over sticker my jaw almost dropped anyway.

Pretty consistent with what the mitsu insiders have been telling us... cars were supposed to be released from port on 3/03... sounds like just a few more days slippage if this is true.
Its been said before... don't sweat it too much. The car will be here when it gets here... use the extra time to save up for your down payment (or your first modification).

I have gotten to the point where it isn't bothering that much to wait an extra month, it gives me extra time to save a little bit more and gives more power to customer via threaten to go buy a sti at msrp, which could weaken dealer. Also gives me more time to decide everything correctly.

Irreglardless, cars will be in stores in March. Beyond that the only way to get more specific is to watch them roll off the truck so stop obsessing.

I'm not sure why Mitsu puts specific dates for car deliveries in their inventory system. If the dates move around so much, I would think it would be easier for them to initially quote month and year only. But then when a vehicle is loaded onto a transporter to be delivered, a specific date could be given. That way customers wouldn't get angry when their delivery date dances around from week to week.

and on top of all this, looking on i-club, it seems that the sti arrival has been pushed UP to april, maybe even march. this does not look good for
. they wont even have a couple of months to build up a reputation and fanbase before the competition arrives...
as a side note, I think whoever failed to realize that a plant making around 5 wings a day would not be able to keep up with a production of 5k/ year (13 cars/day), should be dragged outside and beaten with a pillowcase full of nickels.

I found a thread that could easily be mis-read if one was skimming through it... no biggie, happens to all us.
But as far as I have known for a while the WRX is coming in April and the STi iscoming in June.
Here is the thread I think you were refering to --> http://www.i-club.com/forums/showthr...&threadid=8152

When I spoke to Subaru I was told the sti and '04 wrx would be released at same time ( I was told a couple of weeks ago both in may/june). The sti/wrx brochure alludes to the same.. Plus people on that thread that have spoken to their dealers are talking about an sti.
and I dont see how you guys dont think that
would have had an advantage with an earlier release... more of them on road sooner, more recognition, more sales, more drive to make the evo a staple
car in US, therefore allocating more to keep it competitive w/ subaru. At the very least it gives aftermarket producers a head start on their r&d.
Yes, Evo has a fanbase, although a relatively small one in US, but notice how it started diminishing in the past few weeks as people jumped ship to subaru?

I think most people like me who are interested in the evo are just waiting for their cars to be delivered. I'm numb to it already. I've been waiting since the 2001 NY Auto Show. I'm honestly not expecting to see the car until late April or May. People who were expecting to see it in Feb are now dissappointed. I hate that feeling so I don't even bother. I'm just gonna wait. If it comes earlier then great. If not, whatever.
