Just recently purchased a GFB Stealth Blow Off Valve for a 2005 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution. I have the valve set at 70% vent atmosphere and it is not loud enough. What needs to be done to make it louder? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

are you useing the stock intake? if you are replace it with a new intake like the HKS or Injen kit....get a mailin flash and your car will be louder and faster!!!!!

Yes is the stock intake now. How does the flash and intake make the valve louder?

changing the intake wont help, he is already venting 70% to air.. im surprised you dont have any probs with the mass... if you want louder buy an hks, or a greedy.. rfl's suck..

 

Intake or air filter will definitely make it sound much much louder. I still don't know why you guys want that BOV sound so bad, it's just not worth it. If you really want it to be loud, go out and buy an AEM EMS, have it tuned, then vent 100% to atmosphere. This will cost about $1700 when all is said and done. I don't know much about that BOV, though. Maybe you should purchase a different one?

 

eventhough he is already venting 70% the aftermarket open-air filter will still give you much more BOV sound.. You need a filter just get the BR kit or the RMR kit.. Anything will work.

 

I've heard many people say that the stock valve is pretty loud with an intake. I can only imagine how loud an aftermarket BOV would be with one. Is a flash really necessary with an intake too?

If you're on the stock turbo and MAF, then all you're getting is the sound. I don't think that sound is all that great... Supercharger whine is soooo much more intimidating

I'm not going to say the word, but for the most part, BOVs are a staple Asian crop...

 

Sell your BOV and buy my HKS-SSQV BOV and vent that. You won't have any problems with whimpy sound.
