Infiniti G35?

Anyone here own/owned one and has good/bad opinions? Trying to do a little research on them for my brother and I trust a lot of your guys' opinions.

Bling bling car for the girls....I would love to have a twin turbo one tho. A stock G35 is just too slow after driving Evos. Gluck!

its a all around great entry lux. car. everything from its handling to its engine are great. out of all the cars in its range (mercedes c-class, bmw 3 series, etc...) it was my favorite to drive around in. i dont own one but my cousin does and my father use to have a c-240 so im pretty familiar with the g35. for my preference i would go with the auto trans/all wheel drive.

are we talking coupe or sedan? The sedan styling is outdated and ugly, but it does have AWD. The coupe on the other hand is a very nice looking car. You can get 19's on the new 2005's as well as drilled pedals. The engine is a little more powerful and the interior has slightly upgraded materials. It is a very nice car. My buddy just got one last month and I really like the car. Would not trade my evo for it although I have thought about it a time or two.

My roommate has one. Nice car but it seems slow compared to the EVO. Also he has had a few problems with it. He took it in for the 30,000 mile maintence check it cost him about $700 but they replaced his front rotors for free because of warping. He dident even ask they just did it. I wish we could get that kind of service. Also the tires can not be rotated different sizes for the front and rear. I guess you could remount the tires and switch sides. I keep triing to get him to mod the crap out of it but he's not really into cars. Just wanted to look good in one.

The older G35 Sedans and Coupes had some issues with their brake rotors. Nice looking and even performing cars, but a bit too heavy, IMHO.

Oh and this should be in the Other Cars forum.

had a 350z which i traded in on my evo which is almost identical, the more "performance/sporty" of the two, while the g35 coupe is the more "luxury/sporty". Furthermore a friend of mine has a g35x sedan, the AWD model. It handles nice with the AWD, has some nice top end pull, but low end it feel like a NA MKIV supra (heavy). I definately second that BOTH the coupe and sedan would need a turbo or twin turbo to satisfy my liking. (Or attempt to keep up with a vo)

great drift car! unreal, it could outdrift a fixed up 240 while it's stock. (sedan).

I'm sure the coupe is capable as well.

G35 has the "panty drop" factor.

traded in my g35 coupe for my 05 evo a week ago, havn't looked back since.

the g35 feels so heavy/underpowered in relation to my other cars (05 vette,93 mr2 turbo, 05 evo)....and the upgrades are not as reliable and TONS more expensive. just ask alot of the 350z/g35 who decided a TT setup on stock internals.

handling was nice on it, seemed relatively balanced. interior was much nicer than the evo, but thats to be expected on a lux car, not to mention ~$10k more. i feel it would have been a serious contender if it had 350 hp to support its bulky weight.

i might also add the clutch/tranny was silky smooth...a real enjoyment to drive.

exhaust wise the tone was amazing stock, with a nice rumble, still a litte subdued for my taste.

in the looks department, i regretfully say it does look sexier than the evo imo, but then again thats not why i bought it

all in all if your lookin for something still sporty, but more refined, its a great buy and cheaper than the competetion (3 series, etc). just not what i personally wanted anymore.

My Opinion... G35 Nice Chill car. it does have some speed but the ENGINE SUCKS! Handling is awesome seeing that it outhandles the 350z! Design looks good to me and I love the 6speed tranny very smooth. I love that car Just couldnt afford it so its not in my garage. My friendh as one with twin turbo got tuned somewhere in FL its like 460 something WHP. But they almost BLEW the engine. 460HP is wack for a v6 thats why i said the ENGINE SUCKS! Overall Great Car.

well the "service" was great, although the buying experience was definately lacking, atleast at the local dealership. i was totally ignored for 30 mins or so, and then when i finally asked for someone to get some keys so i could look inside, they wanted to run a credit check!...just to LOOK in one.

long story short, i went to carmax and bought an 03 for 28k loaded. service center was great, and got a loaner just to get an oil change.
