hey... i just pmed rob last week and nisei engineering is working on some pipes... upper nad lower... they'll be selling them a la carte style... with coating options. they were looking into a 'high velocity" lower icp design but they tossed the idea (the pipe was 2" all the way, mimicking br's deluxe intercooler inlet) the design is no good.

so now they have a transition pipe that goes from the stock nozzle to 2.5" right away. still testing.

I put the pipe in last night. It slid in no problem, some installation notes:
  • I removed the bumper just because I hadn't before, you might not need to
  • The only reason to remove the bumper is to get to one of the two bolts that hold the stock licp to (the other bolt is below the coolant overflow tank, just take that out with 2 10mm bolts)
  • If the bumper stays on the job is MUCH easier if you remove the little access panel located just under the IC coupler, just use a small standard screwdriver to remove the clips and it falls out giving you oodles more room to maneuver
The pipe is in, it fits nicely, but I haven't driven the car yet. I can't imagine it won't work as well as any other licp on the market.

Thanks,
Sam

Do any lower IC pipes come with all replacement silicone hoses? I don't like the idea of re-using the woven stock hose from pipe to IC... or does anyone know the part numbers for proper samco replacements perhaps?

Thanks!

Injen, AMS pipes include silicone hoses. The Fighters-Garage includes a silicone hose on the turbo side, and I'm sure it wouldn't be hard to source a silicone hose for the IC side of the pipe...

You can use any 45 degree silicone bend. The stock hose is perfectly fine, tho. I have friends with 15 y/o DSMs running the stock hoses without issue. I was considering making the pipe run up to the intercooler, eliminating the stock coupler and replacing it with a black silicone straight. But, then you would have 2 different couplers on your fmic and it would be slightly visible through the front bumper. Unsure if people would complain about that.

It will be awhile to be honest as I just finished the design on the SRT-4 pipes.
