Where to buy just a lower IC pipe?

The pipe kits that are out there are nice but I don't need to pay for the pretty finish on the bottom two pipes as they are barely seen. I just want to find a vendor who sells the lower pipe and I'll maybe pick up the upper one when I've decided what to do with my battery.

Thanks,
Sam

No offense, but it's really more than that and its professionally welded and powdercoated. It has the extra bends at the end to completely eliminate the stock rubber coupler and replace it with flex-free metal( read: better throttle and boost response). My pipe lines right up and maintains 2 1/4" piping (better flow). The only part where it isn't 2 1/4" is the last inch that has to neck down to mate to the turbo outlet. It appears the AMS uses 2 couplers and necks down to 1.75" halfway through. They make a fine product but I am just stating the differences.

I compare the concept to an AEM intake. You are not paying for the cost of the materials. You are paying for the engineering behind the product, the time taken to ensure that it lines up w/o problems, and the time that you do not have to spend to sit under your car with a welder and torch to fab your own pipe. Its the ability to bolt the product on and go that you are purchasing.

If you do end up purchasing my lower pipe and are unhappy with it, just let me know and I will refund your money.

are there any pipes out there that use 2.5" piping... or is that just retarded?

and on the final product... from fighter's garage... are those welding beads a little better looking? cuz i read the other thread when you guys first introed... adn i know those are the prototype pics... but i gotta tell yah... the welds look like ***... the final product is nicer yeah? any chance to get without powder?

how big are the greddy pipes... diameter for both pieces. i know they're smoothly tapered...

A friend has a Greddy IC with lower pipe and they look about the same size so im guessing Greddy also uses 2.25 piping Greddy also made thelower pipe smaller than the upper pipe for DSM's , Big Greddy FMIC. Hope that helps

Nice response from Fighters Garage... Even though I enjoy modifying my car with custom parts, sometimes bolting up something that is a direct fit saves enough time and sweat to make it hard to justify doing it on your own. Honestly if you don't have a welder and atleast 2-3 hrs to custom fab this pipe, buying it for under $150 is a very solid option. Likely an evo with a large turbo or putting down over 400 WHP would notice a few HP difference by going from 2.25" to 2.5" but until then the difference would be minor for such a short pipe length. What size are the inlet and outlets of the stock intercooler?

I'm pretty sure that you are referring to the old prototype that isn't used now. It didn't replace the turbo outlet coupler and had less bends. That one I quickly welded up so we could test it. I just threw pics up on the site to give people an idea of what it looked like then because they kept asking me to.

The current lower pipe is a completely different design and is welded by a professional. I should be receiving them back from the powdercoater today or early next week. I will post a pic of the final product. The pics that are up now are of the pipe with high temp paint so that we could test fit the pipe and drive it around for the results. The powdercoating is a much more durable finish that is pretty much bulletproof.

That is usually done to make a smooth transition to the throttle body. Unless you are running a huge turbo, your TB will always be larger than your turbo outlet. So, the most gradual way to transition is to add a slight increase in diameter at each piece.
