Wanna fight? ahhaha

Yeah well I think it's the CD itself. I burned all of the music on the GQ brand at around the same time, and I find it pretty convincing since they all started to die at the same time. The thing is that as I go from the first to last song it goes from worst to not-so-worst. Also all of my other music burned on memorex and napster have been sounding great as ever.

I'm using windows media player to burn the mp3s which are all 128kb or more. So it's definetely not the software or mp3.

In conclusion, DON'T BUY GQ CD-Rs. I mean hey for 4 dollars for a 50pk, price is not bad at all. But you get what you pay for.

haha, you should want to fight the guy who said that. because he was subtley calling you an idiot. or maybe he wasn't, i dunno. i'm just speaking from personal experience when i used to work at compusa. when ppl came in with problems some of the salesmen would go, "well, it's a very common problem. it's user error." and the customer would have no clue what they were talking about.

If you burn the CD slow enough, then it really doesn't matter what brand you use. Follow what Sailorgoon suggested, burn at 1x speed to see if that corrects the problem. Depending on how old your PC is, make sure you're not doing anything else on the PC when it's burning. Shut off any crazy 3D rendering screensavers too.
