Beating a dead horse, Greddy type s ?
Alright I have had my Greddy installed for a while now and it works fine. However I can have it make two different sounds. I would assume that one sound is caused by it being either too tight or too soft. It can makes a whoosh squeak sound or it can make a chute chute sound. So does the chute chute sound come from it being too tight or is the whoosh squeak sound from it being too soft? Any input would be great, thanks.
Chute chute is compressor surge, if you really like your turbo it is best to not make it do that. It will hold boost better with higher spring tension but it will also be more likly to surge. Mine does it most in 4th or 5th with light (under 5 lbs) of boost and a slow release oft he throttle, if I back of quick I never get it.
whoosh+tweet is good, chute chute bad. I have played with spring tension and even running a single small spring with 4 turns on the adjuster and the car still ran within a few 100th's of a second of having it cranked down and the heavy spring. I run the small spring in the winter (valve seems tighter wehn it is cold out) and the havey spring 1 turn in for the summer. If I try really hard it will surge only in 5th when letting off the throttle if I am jsut getting into the boost.
'chute chute' sounds like the bov is installed backwards
