A/C makes car almost stall sometimes
Can't believe I just found this thread! I've been having this AC problem since my first round of mods. It's been anywhere from 100-120 degrees out where I live and I've been driving with no AC in this heat because of the stalling issue. Time to call my tuner and finally fix this.
I have tried any and all of these suggestions with no luck.
Car has new battery, spark plugs.
Boost leak tested (new TB seals).
Short of setting s 3k idle I can not get it to NOT stall.
SD converted same deal. stalls only with AC on. At this point I'd PAY for someone to tell me how to fix it....
I have not tried: closed loop for low load, and um ..

I've tried mine in full closed loop to no avail. I haven't had my car in a while though; I'd like to hear if anyone can resolve this issue, as I tried everything on the list as well. I wonder if it has anything to do with the injector latency...
I actually have been working on this, but I have Autronic. Idle ignition timing has a great deal to do with the A/C and stalling, try raising the Idle ignition timing at 1500 and 2000 RPM, that is if you can. Currently when I turn MAX A/C on I get about a 50rpm drop. GL
You'll have to forgive me for not reading every page of this so perhaps my suggestion has already been mentioned. I'm also very much a beginner when it comes to tuning and Ecuflash so I could be wrong on this but I know in Ecuflash there is a setting under the Idle category for "Desired Idle RPM with AC on." I have not tried playing with it yet to see if it works but I wonder if you could fix this problem by bumping those numbers up a little. Perhaps one of the more experienced tuners on here could chime in and let us know if this indeed would fix the problem or if there is a good reason to leave the settings where they are at. Right now my neutral idle is set at 1133 when the engine is warm but for some reason the Desired Idle RPM with AC on is set at 852 in neutral and 648 in drive. That seems like quite a large drop to me but like I said I'm new at this so I could be wrong but I also have the same problem where my car almost stalls but not quite with the A/C on.

ALOT of fluctuations when im sitting in traffic with it on, so most of the time i shut it off. But I never wondered why just deal with it. But i can say it(mine) never really came close to stalling on me. Good luck
I'm assuming everyone with larger injectors are having this issue correct? Has anyone looked at retuning thier injector battery voltage latencies?

hey man i think i can make things clear a lil bit see in saudi the temp. is 42 digrees hahaa most of the year so u can tell we have our A/c all the time u need to rase ur (Avaunce) sorry its a french word its the rpm idel i hope u get what i mean and when u rase it up a litle then on idel with no A/c ur rpm will b a little bit higher than usual but it will never stall when the A/c is on and having cams in there doesnt help at all so by raising ur rpm a lil u will run fine, 1 more thing to all evo A/c user never switch ur A/c on as u r driving u will damage ur compresson (HAPPENED TO ME) :-( and it wasnt fun pluss dont street race when its on cos u r loosing a looooot of ur power have a nice day man and take care
Also this only started for me AFTER installing the QM Twin. I am guessing the huge change in rotational mass the ECU wasnt designed to recover from or compensate for.
i hate my A/C!! i turned it on once when i was stuck in traffic and the car just felt like it was goin to stall. after that i never tunred my A/C on. i just roll down my windows. people say that turning ur A/C on helps the car last longer or something. would there be any problems if you never use ur A/C?
