The car was around $27K out the door -- which is on par with what edmunds.com said it should be.

I'm pretty sure there are no mods on the car, everything except the air filter looks stock (which is how I wanted it) -- but I'm pretty sure the air filter is just an OEM replacement .. nothing fancy. That said, I'm just going by what I can make out from the owner's manual. Anyone have any suggestions on how to check better??

I got the exact car at Carmax here in Dallas. I got their warranty until 99k miles. Mine had 9k miles. I did find that a MBC had been installed and later removed so give it a good look over. Congrats!

Oof, you sure? New ones don't cost much more than that, so I know the 03s aren't worth that much. 2 years of depreciation is more than 2k...

Maybe it's a regional thing, I did another check on edmunds.com just to make sure and it still says around $27K is a fair price. Keep in mind I didn't buy from a private party. Around here, I couldn't get them to come down below $34K OTD w/o the SSL package on a 2005. So I think $27K was okay -- not great, but it'll do

Yeah, that's ok for not buying from a private party, but how in the world could a dealership charge 34k for an 05 w/ssl when they didn't even cost that much back in October? The IX is coming out, and those 05s will drop in value.

People are getting 05s w/SSL for 29k elsewhere...
