Money is not a problem, and lack of a back seat is no problem, then yeah I would say you'd like the 2006 Vette better. That doesn't take anything away from the EVO, for it's price it is an awesome car, and I'd personaly would take the EVO over the Vette, but that is just me. I mean it's tough, I just realized that you are talking about the EVO IX and not the VIII. Ok now I got to break it down-

Reasons to buy the EVO IX-

1) Brand new model, which should be quicker and faster than the previous VIII.

2) Not as many people will have them as will have the C6 Corvette. You literally might be the only person in Palmdale to own one for months. Doubt it, but possible.

3) The all around performance of this car may even be on the same level as the C6 Vette (not Z06) and the C6 Vette costs almost $20K more. Sure the Vette will pull on the straights, but the EVO IX will pull back on the corners.

4) I know money is not an issue, but the almost $20K you save from buying the Vette could go into the EVO IX and watch the f*ck out, the C6 Vette would stand no chance to your EVO with $10K mods in it.

5) I know you say the back seat doesn't matter, but sometimes when you least expect it, it does matter.

6) The EVO is just a fun car to drive and own. I mean not taking anything away from the C6 Vette, but the EVO is a 4 door people hauler that can perform in all weather conditions and has so much performance potential and can go so many different routes. You can literally take it to a Rally event in the morning, to an Autocross in the afternoon, and to the drag strip at night. I mean for a tuning and racing enthusiast, it's a dream.

Reasons to buy the C6 Vette-

1) IMO a damn fine looking vehicle. The more I see the car, the better it looks than the previous C5 to me.

2) Better interior, one of the nicest Vette interiors yet.

3) Is more expensive, but it is worth it's asking price.

4) Easy to mod, 11s shouldn't be a problem at all.

5) I know the ladies would prefer the Vette (But hey the EVO can transport more women, woops sorry this is about the Vette)

6) Instant pull with the big V8, no need to worry about turbo lag, just mash the pedal and your out.

7) Chevrolet (GM) is probably a much more people friendly company the Mitsubishi.

So these are my reasons, just trying to offer a little help. I'm sure other people have their reasons, but like I said these are just my reasons and opinions.

i guess im a v8 guy with an evo. i say vette unless you live anywhere with snow, need to haul more than one person and stuff around, and really dont need the gerneral conviences of a 4door car. evo is much more practical if you can even call it that

Why is everyone so dead set on the Vette? Don't get me wrong it's a very nice car, but the EVO has it's bright spots too. I mean this may not be an issue, but spending $20K more on a car that is not that much or not at all quicker around a road course than an EVO IX would give me second thoughts. Priceless would be his EVO IX with $1,500 worth of mods (if he bought one) competely owning a C6 Vette. Not that I'm saying the C6 Vette is not an awesome car, I'm just saying that the EVO has it's qualities too, why just ignore them. It just seems like you guys are being a little too nice and downing your EVOs, maybe you guys should trade them in for C5 Vettes. Try this, is the Vette a superior car than the EVO, in my opinion, absolutely not.

pends man...

Vette's are cool looking rides... no doubt, and perform great... but, interior feels just as, if not trashier than the Evo's... (Recaro's and Momo Wheels giving the edge here... esp SSL) Feel very very heavy in the front end up until high cornering speeds, and i mean high... not as transitional in s-curves... and if you deal with lots of rain, snow, whatever, AWD is the winner...

don't forget... the hp diff is negotiable in the Evo with just a lil' bit of mods... it doesn't cost much to bump up the power in the Evo... 3" DP, E-cutout, Intake/IC pipe, Walbro, Cams, and Flash goes a long way and is "relatively cheap"...

but, the Vette has that sex appeal... it's all what you want out of the car... great performing status symbol??? or an Entrancing primal driving experience with everyday livability???

If I didn't live in Upstate NY, where "bad" winters can account for almost 40% of the year, I'd be taking a serious look at a Z06 (or M3 or 911).

It depends on how often you will be driving the car. The evo is obviously the more practical of the two.

why not lease both cars since money isn't a problem and break out of the contract when you have decided. i think it would be hard to decide when you're only allowed a test drive. Being allowed to drive it every for at least a month will give you a better idea of which car would suit you better.

I personally don't like the '06 Vette. I like the '05 ZO6, but I decided to go with the MR. I have seen several reports where the stock MR has been faster than the stock "06 Vette on the track & especially autox (which is what I want to do). However everone answerts this thread you need to decide what YOU want in a car. If you pick a car based on what people say on this forum you might very well end up unhappy. After all, who are you buying a car for?

Because he would end up keeping both and loving life.

I'm not against the evo by any means. I love it. I just want a Vette to. I'm not a heavy modder right now and would rather buy a car I know will be relaible and not mod then by a car that I'm going to mod to hell and wonder about the reliablity...And if it will be able to pass smog when I'm done.

you said the evo will pull back on corners but i doubt it the vette itself is not like any other muscle cars it does grip corner well not much less then evo
