Ive dealt with kingpin many times since ive been involved in the car scene. I have followed there businnes on the subaru forums and seen the amazing things they have done there. I have never had any problems and have met dave personally. He Is a VERY knowledgeable and a down to earth guy and i can garantee he will go the extra mile to help anyone out. I will be going through them to purchase all the rest of my parts. I have recomended many guys to go there and will continue to do so. They are just starting in the evo community and like Dave said they will be be comming out with many new parts like that have done for the subarus that im sure will make a lot of people very happy.
side note: When dave lived in New York he Road tuned my car and I was able to run 11.8 and gain 2mph over pruvens tune. This guy knows his stuff!

We started the car again, and ran for about 2 mins and the timing belt slipped and the engine stalled, but it was no damage at that time. We had to fix the timing belt, which Kingpin mechanic did not install the timing belt tensioner correctly. We could not stick a pin through the tensioner before we took the timing belt off, so that means the timing belt tensioner was installed incorrectly. We fix that problem.... it was started again.... It ran for at least five minutes in Vivid Racing garage... Vivid Racing mechanic rev the engine to about 3500 rpm about 3 times... We heard rod knock... and when it was back to idle, the engine made some loud knocking sounds and stall imediately! Vivid Racing mechanic tried to start it again, and the engine could not turn, if it was something jammed in the motor. So he tried to turn the engine by hand and could not. He had to turn the engine the opposite way to turn it. Now remember everyone, this is all on video tape LIVE!!! SO IF ANYONE WANTS TO SEE PICS AND VIDEO OF THIS INCIDENT CONTACT ME. We started to take the head off to see what was wrong. First the camshaft bearing caps, two of them with arrows that suppose to face the timing belt, was installed backwards. The head is off, and my new forged pistons were damaged... because Kingpin mechanic used my old intake manifold off my 2.0 liter that had blown up, and broke a piston, and pieces of that broken piston got sucked into the intake manifold and to the other cylinders. When I gave Kingpin my car, I had all spare parts, and it was no need to disassemble my old 2.0 liter, but they did anyways after telling the owner of Kingpin NOT TO!!!! So my new engine had pieces of the old 2.0 in the cylinders and plus 3 little peebles. So we drop the oil pan, and popped rods out... OH MY GOD, the rod bearings were destroyed!!! It seem like the mechanic at Kingpin used Engine Assembly Lube with PUMICE in it. Basically the shop was not very clean eviroment, and the mechanic didn't make sure to have clean hands when assembling an engine. So my crankshaft was ruined, so I had to buy new pistons and rings, and a new crankshaft. Also when Kingpin put my motor together... when we were taking out the pistons and rods, number 2 and 3 cylinders, the rods were backwards, and number 1 and 4 was installed correctly. So if I had driven the car, it would have spun bearing in number 2 and number 3 on the first run. So basically the engine was not an engine, it was a GRENADE!!!!!
So Vivid Racing and I got everything together and the engine is running beautiful and I have no problems now. This is my first time posting about it, and I was not going to, but I got sick of hearing lies from Kingpin that my car was fine and they know it was not. Kingpin's mechanic suppose to came to my house to fix the oil leak, and never showed up, that's why my car went to Vivid Racing because I had a funny feeling that this engine was not put together right.
I am not going to bash Kingpin Performance, I am beyond that. If anyone wants to do business with them, that's your choice. I've heard great things about them, and that's the reason why I went to them. I've had my bad experience, and it would never, never, never happen again and I will just move on. I just don't like when people lie about things and try to get away with it. Wrong is Wrong and it didn't have to come to this. And I rest my case... Thank you

When I found that he was playing me... I took my car away, my car was complete.. he lies to AMEX that I took car incomplete. The car was complete, what I asked of him to do for me when I drop my car off before I had to go back to Florida, to check on my shop there. I asked him to take my old 2.0 liter out, AND DO NOT DISASSEMBLE MY 2.0 I HAVE ALL SPARE PARTS FOR THE NEW 2.4 MOTOR, pick up my 2.4 liter from Frontier machine shop, take the spare head I got, put my cams in it, and place it on the 2.4 liter block which should have be put together from Frontier machine shop, but it was some miscomunication of that. So Kingpin the owner convinced me that his mechanic can do a good drop. I wasn't going to do that, I rather that the machine guy put it together under a clean eviroment and machinery if a bearing is out of spec. I tried to contact the owner of Frontier machine shop, but he was always away, or left for the day etc etc. So I decided for Kingpin to put my 2.4 liter together. I was still worried that my car will not be right. But I decided for the job to be done. So let's rewind...... just for a minute.... As I was getting that my car was done just sitting there... meaning the engine was built, installed in the car... But my wiring harness was not together, no oil in the engine, transmission, transfer case, engine brackets not together the car was a whole mess. But the reason these things are not together, because I was waiting for a TEIN Suspension for 3 months and that's why my car was still at Kingpin just sitting there all dirty, my interior was all dusty because of the driver side window always down, and they push it outside everyday. Also it must have rain in my car a little once, because I had to replace my window switch on the driver door, it stop working... But I didn't complain to Kingpin that they have to pay for it. I just took the lost and bought a new one. So what I am saying.... MY CAR WAS COMPLETE OF WHAT I ASK FOR KINGPIN TO DO FOR ME. They can tell all these lies to people when they ask about the white EVO.... But go ahead... what goes around comes around.... that never fails in life... So Dave, I know you are loyal to your work place, and I don't blame you, I would probably do the same if I hear a story from my work place and didn't actually see what happen.
I kept very quiet on the forums about my incident at Kingpin about my car... And it's really f*@k up, really it is... But when people come to me, that Kingpin said that I blew my car up, and the car was running and driving fine when it left there shop, that pisses me off. And they know the car was towed away from there shop WHICH I VIDEO TAPE FOR MY RECORDS, and they know about the oil leak, and it was towed to VIVID Racing, and idle for a max of 8 mins and blew up. The car was not driven at all, and I am glad I didn't drive it. So if I wanted to bash you guys I would have post a long time ago. I hope you can see the reason why I am posting now... because I am sick of the lies.
So if want to keep this thread going... I have more to say... but if we are done, I am done with it too...
F.Y.I. Yes I have open a shop in Mesa, and did your boss and tuner tell you that they were going to sub-lease with me before we had this problem about my car. So yes Kingpin knew that I was opening a 2nd shop here in Arizona from Florida. Did they tell you that? Seems like they tell you everything else. I can't wait to see the reply about this one.... It might be a different story from Kingpin, but the owner of Kingpin have emails to my broker don't lie.... And if it's a lie about it, I will post the emails from Kingpin to my broker. I don't have to lie about anything about this or what happen to me car. I have pictures, live video, and countless of witnesses about my car. So if you want to keep this thread going... it's your choice.

I never said kingpin stole Marv's car, i simply didn't leave out that possibility that someone could have gotten access to pertinent ECU info since his car was flashed there. & yes i am logged in on several pc's in several states & i do have other people watch the forum for me in case some new parts or tech data comes out. if you wanna know what i think from my own mouth, bring your AZZ to SCO tomorrow & i'll tell you to your FACE what my views are with your company.

i don't recall arguing about how fast my car is but if YOU PERSONALLY have a an EVO that you have done all the work on yourself, why don't we settle this on the track since all you are is kingpin's beatch & talk a bunch of booboo. also the only evo that has run faster than me @ firebird was an evo that intense motorsports brought out with a protoype turbo kit & they ran 12.69 & 11.58 respectively. i don't claim to have the fastest evo in az, but i have yet to meet someone who will challenge me for top speed rights.

Top speed run? haha good stuff.. Anytime you wanna run let me know, we have a bunch of shop cars that would be more then happy to have a fun day at the track.. Hmm 13'sec evo, i think my daily driver 2.5rs could handle that, i wont even need to bring the evo out of the garage, would hate to get it dirty anyway.. What is funny is, with those traps you should be easily into the 12's..
It just strikes me funny as your friend says he can do all this work himself, and has his own shop but still enlisted Kingpin to do his work?
Also he sat on this for a year and now that he is opening a shop he comes out with the kingpin bashing..
Not to mention he flat out lies when he says he took his car complete.. I have his invoice from when he took the car and it states directly on the invoice that the car was NOT complete.
And you are right i was not there, that is why i have refrained from posting about your buddies evo, i posted what i know and that is Steve did notget fired from Vivid, he quit. Everything i posted is facts that i confirmed before posting.
The maturity of your shop is really shining through with your ignorant posts. Just reading them gives me a headache. I am sure the rest of the kingpin camp would be more then happy to have a tuner race against your shop Mynes(nice bite off Mines BTW) Please set a date, and i will get back to you and let you know if that is god for us. We have 2 of the shop cars down right now getting new parts fabbed but they will be done in short order..
Lastly I am not going to SCO, but if you wanna meet up at the pavs i would be more then happy to hear what you think of kingpin, and chek out that 13sec evo of yours..
