Thanks. Ive never had any problems @ tech when drag racing, as for the road course, I couldnt tell ya, I know its much safer in a rollover, which was my concern for the track.

Yeah a custom made cage is the way to go. But if you don't mind just a roll bar, RMR have the rollbar with the triangulated bars with a pin that slides outward for passengers to get in and out.

I would be worried about getting in an accident with that type of cage, they usually bolt up to the floor and not welded to the sub frame, in an accident they would just rip the floor up or punch through the floor.

Custom Cages in the U.K. offers weld-in cage kits for the Evo, and you can get kits with the ends already profiled. I believe the Evo kits are FIA homologated also. Just happened to run across this website, don't have any personal experience with them:

Any cage is going to cause more hurt than safety if you are driving with out a helmet and not fully buckled into a proper racing seat. It is just that many more hard places to bash your head and body parts against. Manufactures go to a lot of work to make all those hard looking interior parts actually safe to bash your head and extremities against in a good wreck. Anyone that has disassembled an interior on an EVO has seen all the supports and reinforcements built into the car.
