Ebay Exedy Clutchs

Im getting a new trans (under warranty, thank god) and the dealer said that they will install a new clutch for me no labor. So I was looking around ebay and found an exedy for around $275, are these a worthy stock replacement? Im not planning any mods at this time. Or should I just spend the $$$ and get the ACT?

Thanks in advance for your advice.

That's an OE replacement, I doubt there is any better grip over stock clutch. The ACT 2600 kit occasionally at high RPM's makes it tough to get it out of gear. I am replacing it with an Exedy Twin disc this week (Dealer also replacing tranny for second time.)
If you want to hold more HP, don't get this clutch.

Something else about the ACT, they can cause crankwalk. SPend the money and get a good Exedy.

exedy is a pretty good brand. Just save for what is suitable for your needs.

I wouldn't touch that thing with a 10 ft. pool. Spend a couple hundred extra and get an ACT. Especially if you are runing close to a stock configuration.

Just be aware that clutch rattle can drive you mad after thousands of kilometers. I'm getting the ACT in a couple of weeks and coming out of a POS HKS. At least when the ACT goes I won't be $1300+ in the hole.

Just my opinion though.

ACT and crank walk?

I've never heard of that before.

I've never heard anything good from exedy twin clutch.

Most owners upgrade to triple or down grade to ACT.

Very true, there really is a big gap in the evo clutch aftermarket. I have heard bad things about all twin disk clutches without exception. Can you please elaborate on the crank walk comment? I thought this was just in the DSMs...

So thats what that is, the sounds has frustrated me for a week. I thought the tranny was going. Seems like it only happens in 1st gear.

With the clutch I have now, which may or may not be stock, as I purchased the car with 24000 miles on it, when I back up if I dont feather the clutch I get the rattle you guys are talking about. Its driving me nuts! I think im leaning towards the act. theres no way i need to spend over a grand on a clutch for a basically stock car.
