anyone had any problems out of the clearcoat on the factory wing starting to act up and become messed up looking in a few spots? I always keep my wing clean and nothing on it, so I know its not my fault, but i feel like the clearcoat on my wing is falling apart, and what gets me, is you cant even feel it on the outside, so the problem is actually occuring underneath the outside layer of clearcoat. Ill try to snap some pics soon so you guys can see........how would warranty stuff be about this??

 

if its under warrenty the dealer should replace it. I had mine replaced and had them put on another coat of clear.

 

mine looks like sh*t too - UV and ice & snow I think is the culprit in my case

 

My clearcoat is cracked. I took it to the dealer and they said the only thing that could cause that was something on the road and it wasn't their job to replace normal wear and tear. It's ****ty too because I wax it at least every other week and it's obviously not a rock chip.

 

whats odd is that you can not feel it at all........can not wax/buff it out, its just underneath inside, and keeps getting worse. WTF............. i know the dealership will not go for it.....i cant even get them to repair the rock chip thing behind the rear doors on my 03, even the new ones come with the new plastic protectors. THank you !

 

yeah, mine has been fine all along, and now recently it decides to start looking GROSS......and i know mine isnt chipped/ scratched/ nothing baked on it, etc.....

 

mine also has 2 white spots and i can tell already where the next spots are going to occur. i brought it to the dealer before my warranty was up and had it inspected by a regional rep way after my warranty (mitsu never gave me a date to meet with a rep so the claim # stayed open) anyhow, when the rep saw it, he asked "...it looks like you rubbed it with something abrasive" my reply "....yeah i waxed it and buffed it with sand paper!!!" so apparently my complaint is still open and he told me to keep on eye on the wing and if it started to get really bad he would take care of it. we will see about that, because this is going to get really bad really quick.

 

I was just at the dealer this morning for an oil change and told him that paint had come off my mirrors last time I waxed it. I also pointed out the spots on my wing. He asked me to wait on the mirrors because there's no visual defect to be seen yet (I agree) and said he would order me a new wing. I told him to hold off on the wing because I thought I'd get it replaced just before my warranty was up.

 

have any of you guys wrapped the wing with the clear "bra" to prevent these issues?
