That guy is a peice of sh*t for saying some thing like that....An evo is a great car no matter what model you have. If i were you i would be glad you can afford a car like this there are alot of people that would love to have an evo period but cant have one....
Hope you enjoy your car no matter what other people think.

That was an ignorant comment to make, I wanted to buy the RS, but they
are sold faster than they can keep them, so I bought the GSR.
The bells and whistles are fine, but I wanted a true drivers car.

yeah its all good..where i live there are alot of what i would called spoiled rich dudes.. he seemed to have that i am better then u attitude about him..but yeah the comment i thought i would of heard that from an Sti guy or something..it was just out of no where like i said most of the dudes i know give props doesnt matter what car u have...
It was a January issue of some car rag...Car & Driver...Road & Track...whatever. But I remember the silver GSR on the cover being hailed as Car of the Year. On the 2nd or 3rd page of the article was a side blurb about the RS coming to america, and my order was made as soon as I returned home from India. I bought my car for the single purpose of autocross. To each their own, but ya know, I'm perfectly happy rolling up my own windows and unlocking my own doors. If this guys small mindedness gets to you...think of this. There were what, 5000 GSR's made per year? SO he is one of 15 THOUSAND, you are one of 1400! People give me crap about having a damn near 30k car that has no options, but I remind myself that (at least for 2004) only 699 other lucky people get to enjoy the same thing I have. Plus in 2004 the RS came with the rear bar and front LSD, something you couldnt get otherwise.
Well, the guy that laughed at you for having an RS doesn’t know his sh$t. Too bad because there are a lot of azz hats out there.
The RS is specifically designed for track use, so A/C, and power aren’t necessary items. In the UK, you can purchase a 911 GT3 RS. The GT3 RS is just for the guy who wants to take the car out for a track day. Many components are plastic to keep the car light. Does that mean the UK GT3 RS sucks because it has plastic components, only comes in one color, and the regular GT3 is better… hell no!
The same thing is true for the EVO RS vs. the EVO VIII. One is specifically for track use, and the other can be used in the daily grind as well. People who try and slice up the different trim levels, RS, VIII, and MR have inferiority complexes. He probably said that to you because, he thinks he’s better than you because he had the “money” to buy an VIII instead of an RS.
If you purchased an RS because you wanted to save money, that’s cool. But it’s really not about “money,” it’s about the different uses for the same car.
That guy doesn’t get it…
…so don’t sweat it.
I own an 8, but all three cars rock.

Its to bad there are people like that out there. I own both an RS and an MR. When I first got the RS there were some pretty stupid comments. Almost the same with the MR. How its not worth it, etc, etc, etc. Probably the biggest reason I rarely associate with other EVO owners is they don't have much else in common with me other than the car. RS is hardcore and **** on anyone who has to hate on it.
