Boost leak? How tight do clamps need to be?
When installing a BOV, how tight should the clamps be? I'm thinking I may have a boost leak and the BOV was the only thing I touched. Wasn't sure if the clamps need to be as tight as they will physically go or what. Appreciate any advice.
well a rule i go by is to watch the clamp as you are tightening it ...you should begin to see the top part the clamp begin to overlap the bottom and then eventually cross one side of the lower portion of the clamp (geez, that didn't make a whole lot of sense...)....once you are there you should be golden.
It's easier to describe when you see it -- i hope that makes sense. And oh yeah, use a socket instead of a phillips too..

No, don't need torque specs. There just seems to be a lot room for tightening since it is a rubber hose which compresses and, the clamps are ratchet type that can and will tighten down to the point of crushing the hose if too tight. Just wasn't too sure what 'until tight' means.
