I hate my brakes
when I changed the pads on my VI I didnt use shims but I did use copper anti-seize and some anti squeal compound along the edges of the pads. So far almost a year later Ive had no squeal at all.

Many people's problem is that they only used 1/2 the OE shims. Yes, you reused the OE metal shims, but you failed to peel off the fiber shims from the backs of the OE brake pads. They are glued on. You can run some pretty aggressive pads on the Evo with minimum squeal if you reused both the metal shims, and the fiber ones with your anti-squeal compound... along with proper bedding.

I got my calipers changed under warranty for the peeling paint.. When I did that, I purchased Brembo drilled rotors and put factory pads back on them.. No squeels, brakes really good, no complaints here.. My .02
all hawk pads will squeel except for their non squeeling pad. all carbometallic pads squeel. my titan kais do... that's just the commitment you make when you get race pads. you can try the cerametallic pads... maybe some pfs or ferrodos.
