LOL it's a SCAM!!!! I knwo why because I experienced the same thing. I saw a bad *** 350Z for $14k. The car was in Tampa (2.5 hours from me.) I emailed the guy asking to see the car and he went "do this send me $3000.00 now and i'll have the car shipped to you". I go "umm why can't I just go see the car?". He goes "well my mother is living in Tampa alone - and she might get scared to see strangers.. because I am in UK right now."

I called BS on him right there and reported him to to AutoTrader (where he listed).

wow he is doing everything u guys r saying
i emailed him back to see if i could just take a look at the car and this is what he emailed me back

Hello,

If you want to see the car i will have to come to NY, but i don't want to make the trip unless i have a buyer for the car, so if you decide to buy the car i will come to NY and we can arrange a meeting or I can ship the car, but i will need the payment to be done before, as i don't want to make the trip in vain.I've said the car is in perfect mechanical and esthetically condition.I know that $10,300 is a big amount so,to get this started I need a deposit of $5,000 for the car.As soon as the deposit checks out I will take a plane to US and take care of things.

For safety of this transaction we will use an escrow company.
Here are the steps of the deal :

1.The Seller will open the transaction --> 2.The buyer has to make the payment to escrow Financial Department --> 3.The Seller will receive the confirmation that the payment is done --> 4.The seller will ship the item to the buyer and he has 5 days to test check it -->5.The buyer will contact Escrow to tell them if he is satisfied or not --> 6.Escrow will release the money to the seller(in case the buyer is satisfied) and to the buyer(in case that he is not satisfied).

So,please wrote this email twice and let me know.I hope you agree with me,because I think that it is the best way to protect both(seller and buyer).
Just email me back and let me know

Thanks,
James

Quote: salvage titles r usually half or less of the wholesale value. which makes them go for 10-13k. plus anything that sounds 2 good 2 be true, usually IS! BUYER BE WARE!!!!!!!!!
nope salvage/rebuilt title cars are 20-25% less of the private party sale value. i know that because i have been watching cars with salvage titles for the last 2 months.
