^^^ Thats like me asking... "Why does it say on my DSM's speedometer 'Premium Unleaded Fuel Only'? Is Mitsubishi trying to get me to spend all my money at the pump? Will 'Regular Unleaded' not work in my car?"

Of course the Premium fuel's higher octane rating is safer (less knock) and more efficient in my turbo DSM. Could my car run on regular unleaded? Yes, just like your EVO could run on non-synthetic motor oil, but the fact remains that our cars will run better and last longer if we follow the manufacturer's specifications.

Guaranteed that if you spend a little more at the pump and buy that $6 a quart bottle vs the 20+ cents cheaper gas and $12 dollar for an $18 pack of oil, your car will outperform and outlast any other car using the lesser, even if you do beat it.
