We ought to start a poll to see how these threads should be handled. I for one do not think guys like mitsbiz should be able to post freely when advertising. Like he is really there for us

Is there a difference between the CA Evo's and the rest? Im wondering if a CA might different equipment than others. I know other Mitsu's are like that.

Im quite satisfied with the $395 markup that is on the Evo Im getting in 20 days. Here in TX the largest markup I have seen in $2000, and thats the same markup that is on every other Mitsubishi on their lot.

Let’s ban the IP of these trolls that are trying to advertise here for free. They are trying to take advantage of the very people who are responsible for bringing the Evo to the US in the first place - the enthusiast! They are free to sell their Evos for whatever they think they can get for them, that's the beauty of supply & demand economy - just keep their spam out of our boards.

I hate to interject on this touchy subject, especially since I will sound like I'm siding with the minority. Here in California $5,000 markup is about average right now. No joke. I didn't feel they were advertising so much as informing us enthusiasts that their dealership had them and what the costs were. The fact that MOST dealerships are marking them up should be an indication that they aren't here to make a buck or price gouge anyone. I don't know about Texas or anywhere east of here. I just know for a fact that in California right now there's NO dealerships anywhere charging MSRP for this car unless someone was lucky to get it in writing. But then they'd be the only one. Mitsubishi dealerships didn't do their homework when deciding on a markup for this car. The demigraphics for this car are teens to mid 20's. Obviously older ages will trickle in but the fact of the matter is the largest group of enthusiasts can't actually afford the car with a markup. I guarentee if all of them were at MSRP just about every first allocation would be spoken for. They will realize this soon and the markups will drop. Remember Mitsubishi Corp. has nothing to do with markups it's the dealers choice. They will quickly drop them when the cars sit for too long. Just be patient.

Peace

Evilution - I'm not saying that dealers can't charge what they want - they can. I am just getting tired of spamming done by mitsbiz and others. They aren't here because they dig the Evo, they are here to pander their cars and spam this board.

If they've done it before then I agree it should be stopped. I just didn't see that in reading it in this thread. I tend to go off topic a bit but keep it somewhat related. Depends on what's on my mind at the time I'm writing.

"The fact that MOST dealerships are marking them up should be an indication that they aren't here to make a buck or price gouge anyone. "

That makes no sense. It means they all are out to make a buck. They can do that, it's the American way. I just don't think they should be able to advertise on this site for free or freely. There should be rules to ensure it does not get annoying or out of hand. How about a specific forum only for dealers? If you want an EVO you can go read their posts? But at this point they are posting there information on unrelated threads.

I'm referring directly to the posters Mitsbiz, etc. Not about dealerships in general. My whole point was that I didn't see any harm in what they posted while everyone else seemed to think they are here to advertise for their benefit.

Although Mitsbiz did make it sound like it was for him he really didn't leave his full name which would be needed for his commission anyhow. Concord on the other hand posted no such thing and I think meant no harm. Not to mention he started this post. In any case I don't think it's a big deal personally. If you don't like their business tactics don't buy from them. I retracted my deposit on the 350Z because I hated the salesman.
