I can't say I like this feature on any car... unelss you have rug rats I see no need for it.

Oh well .. I'm sure there is a wire to cut or something to disconnect
I think it's more for protection. This car is going to be a high demand car. Car jackings may and probably will happen.

With that auto lock-unlock feature you can't use a turbo timer. Unless you get an alarm that has a delay. When you set the turbo timer to say 2 min. once it shuts down the doors unlock. I always had to wait for the timer to stop which pretty much made it pointless to have a turbo timer. Damn hopefully there's a way around this.
Hopefully, there will be a parameter in the ECU that the dealer can change, to eliminate unlock upon engine stop. Other cars with these kinds of timers and features are customizable by the dealer, even though they might not know it themselves.

Evobservations:
1. Even keeping it well within sane limits, the power on tap is obvious and even a small touch on the loud pedal gives you a heck of a surge forward
2. It's actually pretty damn comfortable
3. The steering is very quick
4. The gearbox feels great - short throw, very positive
5. You can feel every line and crack in the road, but in a good way not a bone-jarring way
6. The trunk lid feels very light for some reason (?)
7. The lights are really good
8. It locks the doors for you when you start the car and unlocks them when you turn the engine off (pretty nifty)
9. Visibility is good - the rear wing doesn't get in the way at all
Words are not sufficient to convey the jealousy we all feel. If I were you, I'd take the day off work and go drive my Evo! (avoid Chevy Suburbans at all cost)

Comments on your observations:
1. Can't wait to experience the power for myself.
2. Good, I will be taking some long trips.
3. Does it feel like a go-cart you can just throw into a turn?
4. Is it possible to feel how extra synchronizers help the shifting?
5. I like communication through the wheel.
6. Good
7. Once you go HID, you don't go back.
8. I could do without this feature.
9. Good to know, not that I was worried too much

Did the dealer make you sit through a "training course" on the Evo?
Did they sell you a Pit-Pass?
How many people have you caught staring?

What did he try to sell you, pit pass, extras?

what did he say to break it in at,,, and what rpm not to go over for the firstxxx miles?

And what do you mean sane speeds,,, it that like when you give it some gas at 2-3000 rpm???? it wants to take off?

Congrats.. I'm on the east coast and probably won't see the car till the end of the month..

Anyway.. What are your plans for breaking it in?? I actually decided to do it over a single weekend and do a road trip through several different driving environments.. Obviously not leaving the car anywhere for very long!!

Jack I just noticed this ICON looks alot like me.. LOL
