Test Drove an Evo today......
haha you're kidding me... "youre so gay you noob!" !?!??!
The fact that he's been on evom isn't an argument which changes his post or my opinion...
No personal disrespect or smugness because i own an evo, his post was stating the obvious and irrelevant.....
its like going up to an elise owner and saying:
"wow, your car doesn't have much trunk space, I PERSONALLY don't think I'll buy one...."

i just went from a 03 oz rally edition AUTOMATIC, to 03 Evo... at first, its like... doesnt seem much different.. you know where everythign is on the dash, stereo looks the same... pretty close to the oz dash... but when you look at those gauges, steering wheel, and put the pedal to the floor coming out of a very fast turn, youll realize it isint the car you confused it with. I say take another test drive in it, and rail the heck out of it.

It sure sounds that the Evo isn't the car for you. It seems the Evo has the performance characteristics you want but not the luxury/refinement you also want.
Try either the 2000-2002 Audi S4 or the new TL.
The S4 is pretty fast, very luxurious, and can be made quite fast (not Evo fast, but fast enough). I believe the Stage III turbo upgrades (larger K04 turbos similar the european-only RS4) can give you about 360-380 HP & over 420 lb-ft torque at the wheels). Hovever, the kist are expensive as are all the S4 parts compared to the Evo. You can go Stage II+ (Chip, intake, downpipes, exhaust, new inetercoolers) can give you high 12's on 93 or 94 oct.
Here's the bad part: S4's are expensive to fix, maintain, aren't that reliable (torn throttle body boots, stuck diverter valves, & blown turbos are fairly common), the back seat is tiny, and depending on where you live they are stolen quite often (NY, NJ, and CT are the worst; I know).
The TL is nice. It's roomy, luxurious, quiet, reliable, and safe. However, it's not that fast, and doesn't handle great. You can always get the A-Spec package that gives you bigger rims, a stiffer suspension, and a nice factory bodykit. I think Car & Driver tested the A-Spec at 14.3 @ 100 and pulled a .92 on the skidpad. Not bad.
Or just get the IS300 and turbocharge / supercharge it. There are some very fast IS300's out there. Not many, but some.
I've typed too much.
I hope my 2 cents helps.

A turbo is300 is nice, has the luxury and speed I am looking for and is also reliable.
Havent checked the TL but I really want to stay away from honda. Even though its an acura, I want to stay away.

thanks, I hope that n00b realized I wouldnt put bags, tvs, xbox, etc into an Evo hahah. There wasnt much other use for an OZ other than to do that stuff.

maybe, its tough for people to realize the evo is not "gods gift" for everyone
an evo is not something you look for in comfort, when you get an evo your looking for power and good looks. i bought my 05 evo 6 months ago. i feel the ride is nice, handles excellent. and overall it keeps me happy. the interior doesnt bother me one bit. i mean its a sports car for god sakes.
