I would think this would be for the regular lancers and not the lancer evo. BMW 3 series was on the list along with BMW M3, you would think the M3 would be considered a 3 series too.

I think were fine.

The build date and locations are listed above. If you want I can check your VIN in case you aren't the original owner and the cars been around

This list of high humidity has been expanded to all cars sold with the affected bags. 5 people have died. people who should have been uninjured have been blinded.

Not for Mitsubishi. Or at least if it has, they haven't told their own employees.

Keep in mind ours are not on the recall list, they are voluntary returns for analysis. The media simply doesn't know how to nor have any reason for differentiating between a NHTSA recall and an independent campaign. All they know is that a manufacturer is asking for cars to come in to do something for free.

I hope you are right and they are expanding, because that means more $$$ for me. But as of yet we are still on voluntary analysis for comparison only according to corporate.

If you provide your VIN I can check internally for you if you are concerned.

Takata make a lot of OE safety equipment for Japanese cars. Even the seat belts on my POS DSM were made by Takata.

Takata makes the majority of our air bags, a lot of seat belts, etc. No idea what constitutes a problem one versus a non-problem one. Luckily Mitsubishis have been pretty immune to the serial killers.

wjamyers: Correct. The reflash will kill your tune, and depending on how you are tuned it may not even work. The factory stuff looks for certain things before it will flash and depending on how tweaked it is (like using a JDM base rom etc) it sometimes won't even allow you to try.
If you wanted to have it done you can flash back to stock, take it in and have it flashed, then go back.... but it would defeat the purpose of the flash since you would be un-doing it when you put your tune back on.
Catalyst coverage is only up to 100000 miles, and would only cover an original OE cat. They will not give you a cat if one is missing or anything like that, replacement is only contingent on the original cat having been damaged from the stock tune. If however you had an original one that was damaged and have documented proof of that (repair bill for new cat install and reason documented for replacement), you can petition for reimbursement of the repair.
