Innovation and EVOlution in the aftermarket - the NEW best MBC for EVOS!
I previously had a Blitz SBC-ID on my GSX and the solenoid went out after a year and they wanted $500 to replace it which was ludicrous. It turned into a $600 boost guage. Ironically, I talked to someone this weekend at the track with an EVO with the same EBC and his solenoid had also failed and he was quoted $260 for the replacment. MBC's are definitely the way to go.
I do miss the ability to adjust boost from within the car. I am interested to hear some real world experience on how the MBC will work out from within the car. I have always heard that you do not want to run long vacuum lines as they will create boost problems and have heard first hand of creep and laggy boost issues. I believe this is the reason that the Hallman has a cable for in car adjustment. Mike, have you done any testing with the unit mounted from within the car?
I would also like to here some real world numbers on the difference in boost taper of this unit versus the Hallman and also spool up RPM. My Hallman tapers about 1.5psi less then my TurboXS did and boost hits harder. I am definitely sold on the adjustability feature of the Forge unit and will probably purchase one due to that feature alone. It usually takes me three or four stops to adjust it for race gas and vice versa.
The other advantage of an MBC or EBC is the ability to turn it to below stock boost when your girl friend, wife, or whoever else might be driving it. Valet mode

I have not yet installed this inside of a vehicle yet, and while it is typically not recommended to use longer vacuum lines, it is highly doubtful that anyone would notice an increase in spool time or any additional lag by doing so.
Using 3mm or 4mm bore vacuum lines do not have enough internal volume to create a noticeable difference in this regard.
But, yes, it would be recommended to use the shortest lines possible.

We do not currently have any plans to offer anything similar to Hallman's in-car cable desgin as the ratcheting feature of our unit would be lost by doing so. This ratcheting feature is proving to provide a very precise and postive level of adjustment that will stay at the set level until adjusted again and provides for each individual "learning" their settings for desired levels of adjustment.

Tapering of boost when using manual controllers like this are based on numerous factors that we spent a long time working on getting right and have found there to be virtually no tapering of boost at all with this unit and some of it's unique features.
I cannot compare it to the Hallman in this regard, however, as I have no personal experience with it.

I had the Forge SMIC and the 007 DV on my GTI and I never had a single problem with either. Both products exceeded my expectations and I will be once again forking over my hard earned cash for their top notch products.

Yes, this picture was taken with the stock airbox, but the intake piece was removed.

My good man,
It's sounds/looks like you need to ceramic coat that manifold.
