what is the clutch restrictor plate?

hey guys just wanted to know exactly what the clutch restrictor plate is and what does it do? also i have been reading about people removing it. i just wanted to know what are the advantages/disadvantages of removing it? thanks!

Where'd you get the plate idea?

There is a clutch restrictor in the slave cylinder. I'm sure you already did a search for "clutch restrictor" and saw not only what it does, but also what it looks like and how to remove it, right? It restricts the flow of clutch fluid when engaging the clutch.

hahaha well i think i can launch it pretty well..for what it's worth..im just trying to justify the reason to do it for my own personal knowledge. and if one day i decide it's worth it ill do it..but for now i just want to know more about it.

yea i found them all. it seems like something i would like to do. does the cluth pedal need adjustment after the removal? i was reading how some people needed to readjust it. also...farmer..you said your 05 didnt comewith one? is there a way to tell if you dont have a clutch restrictor plate without having to go down there?

Haha, man, there's no plate. I thought we covered that already. It's a plug with a hole drilled in the center and a spring attached.

You can't see the restrictor pill unless you remove the banjo bolt from the slave
cylinder. After that you need to bleed the air out.

yea lol i got that..im just used to typing it now..ill call it the lil spring that could. haha. but is there a way to know if you have one or not? without going down there.

It's inside the slave cylinder, so I don't see how you could find out without taking it apart. I am baffled as to how Farmer's car didn't have one...that would worry me greatly if I were he, because it could indicate one of several possibilities, none of which are positive.

thanks man..that's all i needed to hear..cause when farmer said his 05 didnt have one i was thinking the 05 my 05 didnt have one either..so oh well..ill have to go check it out when i have time.
