That body style will never have GTO character. My 2 cents.

Actually the Lancer is based off of the Lancer Evolution in a way if you research it the first Evolution was of course the Evo I and there was no base model lancer so therefore ummm yeah.... I know I know the Evo VIII chassis is the Lancer chassis with a bunch of spot welds but technically I'm kinda right lol

HMMM so I am mistaken, I could've sworn the first Evolution made was indeed that an Evolution and that the predecessor in a sense was the galant VR 4. I guess I don't know it all lol thank you for the lesson.

The first Evo 1 was based off of a Mirage platform.

On to the point of the Evo and it based of the Lancer no argument there, but the only thing the Evo and a regular Lancer have in common is they both have four doors, and share the name Lancer. If you want to throw in they both have versions of a 4cyl engine. Ohter than that everything else is orginal for the Evo design. In the point of the G35/GT-R you can argue that it hasn't been released yet so we don't know what the differences will be, except some pictures of a G35 with a big wing. I don't see $50G's worth of car that they want to rebadge as a Skyline. Thats just my opnion as you state yours. Spend your money on a G35 coupe, turbo chagre it, add suspension and put some Skline stickers on it. Save $10G's

So now that this thread is totally off topic and in no way shape/form relates to being dissapointed after owning a evo...and to the guy that said to shove the lancer up the other dude's ***...you all drive lancers...

Yea the Australian Holden Monaro, GM partner company in Aussy land. I wasn't talking about under the hood, I was talking about the appearance. Your point taken on the drivetrain. You are correct 400HP 6.0 Litre LS2. I was more refering to look of the car. Its lousy in my book and looks like all the other Ponitac cars grand-am, grand-prix. GM was also thinking of using that platform as a SS El Camino verison on the 400HP Holden Monaro car/truck thing.
On topic the Evo is the most fun and best car I've ever owned. My 55 Chevy would be second.
