setting smoothing at 0 gives inaccurate numbers.

also base numbers are needes to see what the result really was.

DUDE WTF ARE YOU BABBLING ABOUT THOSE BEING INACCURATE NUMBERS??????

Your e-knowledge is failing you terribly right now. Dont comment on things u know nothing about.

Setting the smoothing at 0 gives real unaltered data.....its the other way around that is more misleading if anything because you are smoothing out the graph to bring the peaks and troughs together.

Where do people come up with this crap? The thread is worth a lot to those who want to compare same mods on the 8 and 9 and see the outcome.

Since all dynos run differently and produce different numbers a baseline is required, all you have to is provide that and the haters will shut their mouths.
I'm curious to what it put down before the SAFC to see what kind of gains are possible with it and what tuning the 9 can get you.

Not really, because dyno's don't read the same and conditions are not the same. What you're showing here is that with the S-AFC, this IX is equal in power to my 05 with TBE/MBC/SAFC (294/269) while only on 91oct when I'm on 93oct. If that's true, then that's great, but I'm running 12.01 on my setup with race gas. Until tomorrow, I don't have a straight up 93oct run on my 294/269 setup with which to compare.

The 20hp spike may not be right, and we need to see the baseline.

Those numbers are very impressive on stock exhaust With full turboback, 310-320WHP is possible on pump gas, just amazing.

Everyone wants baseline numbers to see how much power those few mods extracted. What if someone just posted up that graph for an VIII with the same mods and same power? It would still be great but where did he start?

sure seems that way. Chris or Alfred wouldn't ever say anything against him or his business. I actually called them asking for advice on tuning my car, and they told me for my situation a reflash might be better.

a flash is superior to just an AFC ...I will not deny that.

but I think the reason you hear so many shops and tuners talk trash about the AFC is they can't make as much money on them. I don't know if there is just an initial software purchase from some company, or if there is a per-ECU licensing cost to that company, or if they engineered thier own software and hacked the factory flash ....but, I am guessing the profit margin on a flash is a hell of alot more than selling AFC's for a 5% markup.

I think a flash AND an AFC is a great combo for someone that wants to tune themselves for different weather or gas ...but I bet you will not find a flash retailer that will recommend that. They want you to send your ECU back for another flash which takes 30 seconds and is pure profit.

Hopefully sometime soon some of the guys that hack satellite TV ird's, tivo, game consoles, etc. will buy an evo and hack the ecu flash and write some free software for us.

Free software that'll probably blow our sh#t up. No but seriously that would be cool assuming the software was safe and all.

Yeah there good guys. It won't be the first time they had to defend themselves and surely wont be the last.

I've seen Al's flash first hand put numbers down on a dyno, all I can say is it made me lose all confidence in anyone touching my ecu. I went from a 13.9 stock in my 05 to a 12.7 with a tbe, boost controller, and intake. Safc only had buschur settings, no custom tune on it.

So big for the afc. I've seen all the Al's flash did for the vegas guys.
