Poor MR
Even though this really is sad, I just can't help just laughing at this picture. I keep picturing it with big letters at the top saying "0WN3D!" like in all those pictures in the owned threads.
This will damage the viscous coupler, but unfortunately, the owner won't even realize it at first, because it will appear to work fine most of the time.
This exact thing happened to my Talon. The stupid HOA in my neighborhood towed it without me knowing after someone called it in as being "abandoned" even though it was right in front of my house in a real parking spot. Some jackass had just stolen my HUGE FMIC off the front, so I hadn't been able to drive it for a few weeks. Anyway, I CAUGHT the moron tow truck driver with my car on 2 wheels pulled over on the side of the road, because he had noticed that something was wrong. Well, duh. So, I get the the guy's name and info, then go home and proceed to call the tow company.
To make a long story short, in the end they denied that any damage had been done and told me I'd have to PROVE the damage before they'd pay for anything. Well, unfortunately, I didn't have the ability to do this myself, so it would have cost around $900 to take it apart and put it back together, and there was no guarantee I'd be able to prove the damage was caused by the tow truck, especially since this was a highly-modded car that I raced. I ended up having to junk the car and part it out. I sold the engine and tranny parts to a local DSM'r who took the tranny apart and verified that the VC was shot as expected. So, if the tow company is shady like this one, it gets very difficult even with visual proof.

What's worse, even Mitsubishi doesn't give a **** how the car gets towed. The lady that towed my car told me she had the exact model (Evo) towed once on 2 wheels when she received an order from one of the local Mitsu shops to tow it and they said it was a regular lancer. I would not be surprized if this is the same or similar case. Unfortunately our cars don't have AWD sticker and if you debadge them it's even harder to tell unless the person is a car enthusiast and knows what kind of car it is. Some people don't crawl underneath to look how the drive train looks like.
thats why you have to fight for everything. you need to make sure that you get a flatbed. if a truck shows and its not a flatbed, keep waiting. another tow truck will have to come pick you up

Most people just don't know WTF an Evo is. They hear Mitsu and Lancer and tune the rest out.
