Evo Build Off Results
well if u been to SEMA this week or seen my fellow las vegas evo buddy, vegasboys SEMA photoshoot. u would know that they had an Evo build off. well the 2 cars just finish racing tonight on the las vegas strip right in front of the Frontier casino. well all i can say is they both had an impressive amount of AMS parts. i really love AMS's big intercooler.
n-e-ways to cut a long story short the grey evo ended up winning the first race. well while the 2 cars were setting up to do the second race. the black evo driver started showboating and BLEW the 4g63. they tried to play in off by sayin that they only blew a radiator hose. but with the amount of smoke coming out of the engine u would have to be stupid to believe that. well i got a chance to see the block up close and sho nuff there was a nice big hole and crack in the block. vegasboy took a few pics of it. dont know if u can really see the crack. the exhaust manifold was in the way.
i just wanted to give ya'll evo guys the updated on the build off. me and vegasboy were there in person to witness the destruction of a perfectly good evo.

the grey evo won the first race. the results from the dyno where both cars where making about 540 to the wheels on a dynojet. they both had 100 shot nitrous set ups as well. which put them in the 600hp range. i know the grey evos bottle wasnt hooked up. not sure about the black one.

Mark Kozeluh was sick and could not make the event. Chris and Eric K. had so much media appearances to make elsewhere they were not able to work on the cars very much at all. I was able to step in during the last part of the event (also the most hectic and exciting) and help the World Racing team out.
Our car (silver one) made 550 to all 4 wheels on a Dynojet 424x located at Dynojet's facility just outside of Vegas. This was done with 34 lbs of boost and no nitrous. MSP Racing's car made 526 or so using 19-20 lbs of boost and using the squeeze. They were having fuel cut issues over 21 lbs so they decided to keep the boost lower and use the nitrous. Keep in mind this was done on two brand new cars with less than 50 miles on the motors, and everything from valve cover to pan completly stock, not even cams or head studs. It's absolutly amazing that these motors can take what we thru at them. MSP's car broke a rod while antilagging it, something that I've seen happen before (very hard on the motor). Their car actually made a full pass down the strip running 35 psi of boost AND using the nitrous on top of that, probibly making around 650 whp!
When the dust settled, the Word Racing team came out on top, winning the Yahoo Customs Auto Challenge Throphy and $5000 to the members of the team.
I would like to thank Yahoo and NOPI (Mike Meyers, Glenn Woods, and others) for putting on such an exciting and successful event. I'd also like to thank everyone on the MSP Racing team (Paul, Krystos, Jason Hunt, among others) and the World Racing team (Christian, Eric P., Eric K., Martin, and others) for letting me fill in at the last minute and be a part of the whole thing. I had more fun that I though could be possible and met some really good people along the way. Everyone involved was more friendly and professional that I could have ever imagined.
Thanks and congrats again to everyone involved. I hope everyone enjoyed either watching it or being a part of it in some way.
Regards,
Eric Jones
