From what i've researched and learned, HKS has the best TBE system available. The downpipe gives added torque over any other system and the hi-power exhaust performs just as good as anyone....$515 for it at lancershop.com. 675 for the 30th anniversary version. But, HKS is the best, most proven Evo company there is, so i trust them the most. Plus, if you look up the specs on everything, their systems out perform everyone elses.

Sorry, man, but this isn't true. You have fallen for the branding hook, line, and sinker. Their exhaust is no better than the many others out there, yet costs way more for no reason. The downpipe does not give more torque than others, and the hi-power is nothing but stainless steel piping like all the others. It's just a cool name with an HKS logo etched into it. HKS is not the best or most proven Evo company; it's just the most hyped and most expensive. There are no specs that show HKS exhaust outperforming other exhausts. They're all the same within reason...

I disagree. Saying something isn't inexpensive by comparing it to the cheapest exhaust on the planet (ok, so that's hyperbole) isn't exactly the truth. It's all a matter of tastes. You are uncomfortable with paying 500 bucks for a cat-back...that's your perogative. Everyone wants different things. I personally think it's ludicrous to put a $5000 paint job on a Caprice Classic, but I've seen it done. To each their own.

There is way too much finger pointing on this board. Your times suck, your numbers suck, your rims are too big/small, your tuner sucks, etc., etc., ad nauseum

Hey, there's nothing wrong with preference, but calling a $500 cat-back "very inexpensive" when there are high quality, good-looking, perfectly-fitting, fully 3" cat-backs out there for much less is not right, in my opinion. I don't want a noob to see a vendor tout their "very inexpensive" exhaust, when it's no better than one that costs MUCH less. That's all...just lookin' out for the rest of EvoM.

I like the guy that has the $200 exhaust from ebay. I think it's cool that he's satisfied, but I'm too chicken to buy cheap stuff on ebay personally.

Here's two simple questions and one slightly tricky one.
1. Will I loose much acceleration off the line (i.e.bottom end responce) by installing a TB exhaust over my stock one?
2.If a person were to install a TB exhaust, wouild they need to re-flash thier car?
3. Which exhaust has the most noticable performance gains without being much louder than the stock, for the best price and fits well?
Please, actual experiance or firsthand knowledge only, no "I heard about it"

Man, come on, you can't try to sneak that crap in on someone else's thread. The first question makes no sense...not sure why you'd even ask that when you gain 30whp/30wtq. The answer to 2 is a flat "no," and you'd know this if you searched. Question 3 infuriates me. They all give the same damn power, they all fit well, and they all are louder than stock. You need to do your own damn research to find out the relative costs and sound levels. There's a sound comparison of many exhausts on the NorCalEvo site...again, you'd have found this if you searched.

I hope that wasn't a threat.
You need to review the rules of this site.
