imo, both cars are a wash...they're so close...it'll come down to your own preference.

From: Why do they always call the Evo the Dark Side?
The person quoted is a moron fanboy.

He is not the only one in this thread.

They are both great cars. If I was buying a new car, it'd be a red Evo 9, with the TME stripes. (But that's because the 2006 Imprezas are hideous)

Oh and all of you are n00bs

LOUD NOISES!!

They both gave big wings, they both get crazy attention on the road, and both are really damn fast. Both are nice cars, pick one and be happy.

Look if one car was better than the other.. why are they compared so much =) they are basically equal...just go sit in each car.. and break it all down...

I have driven both. The STI is also a great car. Although the heal and toe'ing on the STI is easy for me. I don't know why. The EVO 8 with its stock sound insulation produces wonderfull sound effects inside the cockpit. The humming, the whine, the sound of the lightened flywheel. It sounded like the cars this guy tested in Victory By Design.
Track cars should make a lot of noises and it feels good especially if you have not driven it for a week. With all the mods that I have, I'm driving it everyday with more noises and totally forgot about my CLK55 (I have not driven my CLK55 for 6 months), which should have been my daily driver.

lol that guy got totally destroyed on nasioc... although some comments on here were on par with him, but oh well there will always be non-enthusiast fanboys everywhere the good news there are still level headed people that see both cars are great.

Leh Keen is very biased. Of course his time in an STI was better. He drove a suspension modded STI vs a nonmodded evo. Plus he is a Subaru owner, so he would want the subi to win.

Simple ...

I was told this from a friend that works for a well known tuner in Japan

If you want a fun car that your going to mod lightly get the STI if you want to make power and really mod your car get the EVO.

Thats why I got an evo ... I drove both and like both. Personally I like the EVO interior way better mainly due to the seats.
