Converting Mirage into EVO6...
It's Mirage body (with VIN #) and EVO VI parts...therefore, you will lose the chassis strength compared to the real EVO...
RRE is one of the shops that have done this before that I know of...

haha do0de if you've got the time and money anything is possible!
if your serious about doing the swap i would suggest you go talk to the guys at Road Race, TAD Motorsports and the mitsu nuts at www.mirageforums.com before you ask about your swap on the mirageforums i would suggest you do a search first because we get millions of questions regarding swaps. If you want to go cheaper get yourself a 4th gen Mirage the rounder evo3 style bodied mirage and get the eclipse GSX components...and bam! instant cheap evo3[my fav evo]
i previously owned a 98 mirage and attempted an evo conversion out of the garage...boy oh boy haha if you plan on doing the conversion yourself...then you've got alot of trouble ahead of you...i had the most headaches from grafting the rear floor panels to fit the rear dif from my chopped e5 and relocating the gas tank. I had pro-chassis builders rework JUST the welds on my car too...damn bro i gotta warn you...its not easy and its alot harder then you think it is...especially if you dont know what your doing. I eventually gave up on the car and sent it to TAD Motorsports in Chicago to finish the job...they did a complete street GSR Evo5 conversion on my car interior/exterior/performance everything...even JDM bodykit. eventually i sold the car to so guy in the east coast who saw my car getting finished
yeah i know how stupid...but i needed the money and the guy offered to pay for the car and the money wasted for the conversion...so lets say ball park number of 30k...i made about 6k off the car
now i got my daily driver Lancer and a Sileighty in my garage at the works
GOOD LUCK!
o btw: talked to Rob at RoadRace about that Mirage out back that they were converting...that things been there for years...if my memory serves me right that guy gave up on that car waaaay back. anyway....contact Road Race for info or TAD in Chicago.
btw i'm a huge fan of RRE's Mirage hatch with the eclipse motor in it! phewwww wish i could take a ride in that! hehe *my next project* lol i wish! funds are a b*tch these days.

DriftRunSir, I never read about your experience during my days on Miragetuner.com...I guess I didn't look hard enough
Anyway, it's nice to get some first hand experience from someone who has "been there, done that"... I guess your experience further confirm my believe...
