I also used to have one on my 04 WRX, and I liked it alot.
But now I have a Xede on the EVO, so a AP would be downgrading.
My g/f does have a 06 WRX and we might get an AP for that.

If they are under construction, it's gonna be a while. I remember when they first came out for the STi, it took forever. I waited and waited since there wasn't much else on the market. I think it was the best mod added to my car though. It was well worth the $$$, and now I'm going to get the protune(car specific custom map).

Ya it took forever but the good thing is we will not have to wait for them to come out with maps

I had the accessport on my wrx but had to sell it because I needed more than their staged maps(about a year before the protuner was released). If when it comes out for the evo it's as simple to use as it is on the wrx it's going to be a huge hit. I've seen the tuning interfaces for the protuner quite a bit and have to say that it's pretty cool.

One big plus I see for it is when you go to sell your car. All you have to do is unmarry it and put it on the market. No fussing around with trading someone else for a stock ecu etc...

Here are just some basic screenshots: http://www.accessecu.com/update-subaru1.html

So I was at the track with a friend who had an 05 sti, he had 100oct. in the tank and he pulled out this little handheld device and plugged it into his car and re-flashed the thing right there in the pits at firebird raceway and he took 2 tenths off his 1/4 mile time. I was so jealous. It was a cobb accessport. He would download maps (from cobbs site) and reflash his car everytime he modded his car.

I first time I saw the access port 4 months ago. Its amazing, why don't evos have anything like this, a few manufacturers talk about making one but no one has done it yet. We have some amazing tuners so why can't anyone make any progress?

I also had it on the 04 Sti I had. Loved it more than ECUTek. Allows you to carry multiple maps for what ever you want to include a stock map. Maps can be shared with one another and you can create a map for a buddy if you like. Awesome.
