1.5-2mph extra by removing the wing?
NOT true. Not if you are talking about the 1/4 mile.
We've tried it on two seperate occasions and the wing makes absolutely NO difference if you take it off. As a matter of fact without the wing, if anything, the car was ever so slightly slower.
Both times we tested this it was on a full weight EVO running around 118 mph trap speeds.
My RS has no wing. We ran the C&D event without it but spent time concentrating on making the bottom of the floor flat. Robi spec rear carbon undertray and an undertray I built for the front. Robert Fuller drove the car and said it was very stable. We had to run up to 140 mph like this. I would tend to say the wing on a road course would be a good thing.
As far as gaining anything in the 1/4 mile by taking it off though, it has no effect.

By just looking at it, I would say there would be less drag. However I wouldn't think this will be worth any sensible difference or rather that the difference would not be significant compared to all the other variables involved. I'm talking about drag racing only here.
However, if you're concerned about the wing causing drag, there are more 'efficient' wings made by a number of people like c-west etc.
See: https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...6&postcount=89 for some TIMED laps with stock vs. body kit. Aero changes on your car can make a difference, apparently.

My experiance on the roadracing is go to an adjustable wing...we set the car up loose in the low speed stuff and then add wing (and drag) to settle the car in the high speed sweepers..this takes more HP an I've been lucky to have David help out there (shameless plug for a great shop)...Adding the undertray gives similar downforce feel as the stock wing but with less drag in the highspeed stuff.
