I don't think you understand what I was saying... most cop cars (crown vics, caprices, etc) with light bar and other crap are bogged down and are limited (by the laws of physics, not their department) to about 130, maybe 140.

I'm not saying you should lead them on a long car chase, but that after you passed him, you are at an advantage to change direction before he has a chance to "officially" notify you that he is attempting to pull you over.

I don't condone speeding that fast on a public road, but only offered the advice to minimise getting cited. Since you're looking for a way to lessen the penalty, I thought I'd offer my .02 for any future driving (If you still havea license ).

to be honest bud. i would sell the car and buy a bicycle. your going to have to find a new lawyer. i mean comeon, anyone who wants your buisness isnt going to say good luck. have a laywer go before the DA and show them your clean record, show them that the roads were clear (im assuming you werent weaving through traffic), and that you just made a big time mistake. have them throw you at the mercy of the court (if you will excuse the saying). if you have a clean record you might be able to work it down to just an expensive ticket. here is the time that you make some phone calls. call a dozen lawyers in teh area, call anyone you know in the legal system (cops, lawyers, judges, etc!!!).

I thought about running for a split second but it wasnt just me.. see i left out the part that I was running a crotch rocket I knew when he saw both of us he would call in a pursuit... Sunday night there is not a lot going on at midnight.. I figure every cop within twenty miles would have responded.. I haven't ever gone that fast on a public road either.. I don't know what the hell i was thinking

 

Same thing happened to me, the only difference is instead of lifting, I tried to push the gas pedal through the firewall, it worked.

But anyway, I can guarantee you that there is a way around this, especially if you have the money to pay for it.

thats the trick, lots and lots of phone calls. find a DUI lawyer, they specialise in automotive related criminal acts. thats probably the best way to go. i could make some good recomendations here in cali (have lots of good connections!). check these out:
