I had a run in with an Sti here in CT while on my 05 6r and i saw 171 mph up a hill as i let off the throttle. The Sti was left easily but that night taught me a lesson. I dont need to be on a bike cause ti requires self control that most humans dont possess. Yes it was reckless and thats why I'm sellin that s$%t this spring. Doesnt make any sense. But still we need to be safe out there and the only wasy for me to maintain my perfect record is to ditch that green monster. I am praying for this guy though because we all make big mistakes every now and then.

if your state is anything like mine, there is always a lawyer or 2 in town that has the DA eating out of there pockets so.... find those guys, they will start the conversation off with something like man that is gonna be a hard one to beat... i am going to have to "pull a few strings" on this one.

2] So it is with traffic laws: Even the most skilled attorney can't do the impossible. You went 110 & are looking for a "loophole". That's a "loopy" idea. Just because it's very serious and you are willing to burn great quantities of money, doesn't any easier to make what you did disappear.
3] Having said that-the courts are great bureaucracies and both the prosecutor and the judge are humans. So if you get very lucky, maybe they will be reasonable/lazy and your newly hired, skilled attorney can break it down to a plea to a lesser charge.
It helps to get an attorney who is not afraid to go to trial because the neither the prosecutor nor the judge want to waste a ton of time on this and trials are schedule killers.
You also did yourself a HUGE favor by pulling over. Now your attorney has an argument as to why you are not a criminal-you obeyed the law as soon as the cop showed up-you could have run and endangered others, gotten on local news etc. So, by stopping you showed yourself to be a lawabiding citizen who just made a stupid mistake and now is very sorry . So, it will be much easier for your attorney to sell the argument that, while you deserve some punishment, you also deserve some leniency.
4] Finally, it's interesting that there are so many lawyer haters out there-until someone is in trouble. If you do find an atttorney who gets you off, you know what everyone is going to say:" Aww, those lawyers, they are all so crooked!"

As someone already said it, you do not have the option to go to traffic school since it is a Criminal Speeding ticket. If he wrote down 110, it is not "that" bad, you might have a chance to get it reduced but if you are hoping for a loophole to get out of it, that's most likely not going to happen. Personally, I think you need to suffer the consequences, but that's another story.
Some one mentioned to go to court and hope the officer doesn't show up. Well, that will be a tiny chance of happening. I know for the local PD that I work for (in AZ), Officers are required to go to court and if they don't show up, their Sgt. will be on their @ss.
As the above poster said, it will be much easier for your attorney to sell the argument that, while you deserve some punishment, you also deserve some leniency. They will be more likely to reduce it if they know that you've regretted making that mistake.

This would be the only way you could make a deal or get out of it.

The Law Of Radar Calibration
Every state here in the United States requires by law, every law enforcement agency be it local, city, state or federal, to either annually or semi-annually send out every police radar unit in that departments inventory to an independent laboratory for a complete inspection and certification. The purpose of this is quite obvious; we want to be sure that every piece of police radar being used be in proper working order so that mistakes are not made and speeding tickets not issued in error or unjustly.
Oh and doing 165, I don't think he could he could have caught you unless you were at "the end of the line".
Best of luck.
A good lawyer can work wonders. I got pulled over for going 150mph and on top of it the cop thought it was a high speed persuit because he claims he was chasing me for about 7 miles, I didn't see him untill I slowed down to take my exit home. When he pulled me over he had his gun in hand and the whole 9 yards, he was doing a fellony stop on me. After he got me out my car and questioned me he ended up writing a ticket for 100 mph. I had to go to court a bunch of times but my lawyer handled everything. My punishment was a little fine and a visit to the L.A county morgue. They didn't suspend or take away my drivers license, which was fine by me. Make sure you get a good lawyer and your set
I live in IL, and I have had many legal problems lately, DUI, driving on a Suspended liscense. My DUI laywer f-ed up so that is why I got a ticket for driving on a suspended liscense, so I hired another laywer to fight that. My second laywer is very good he got one of my friends out of a ton of tickets, the only problem is that I live in IL and the laywer does too, and he knows our laws here very well, and my not be as familiar with yours. The least I could do is PM you his number and you can talk to him. He is a great laywer IMOP, and you could really see if you at least have a shot at this. Let me know what you think
about this. If you don't mind me asking what are the concequences of this, cause if its money, like my situation ($4500 total), you can always work to make that back. But if its jail time, then you need to get out of that. I have a Class A Misdameanor on my record now, its not the end of world. PM me if want to talk more indepth about this.

i hope the prosecution doesn't get a hold of this thread, considering you just admitted to going 165mph and street racing.
p.s. who won?

p.s. who won?
