Criminal speeding ticket. HELP!!!

So I'm pretty sure I'm screwed here. I have had my 9rs for two weeks and last sunday night I blew by a cop with my speedo reading 165mph. The cop obviously pulled me over and arrested me.. He was kinda a car guy and wrote me a ticket for 110. I have talked with an attorney and she said I'm screwed.. I live in AZ.. Anybody know of anything solid I can do?? No stupid replies please only solid advice. thx.

Probably the only thing you could have done was bribe the cop. I mean, you've already talked to your attorney, giving legal advice is their job, what do you expect an Evo forum to offer you? That said, maybe contact a few other attornies?

try to get probation and goto driver improvement classes to get positive points to counter the negative points that are gonna go on your driving record. i.e. i got a speeding ticket in Virginia, and anything above 80 mph in VA is considered reckless driving, which is considered a criminal offense, and so I got it lowered to 79 mph, which is just normal speeding which is 4 points and fine + court fees. Then they recommended I take driving improvement classes to get a positve 5 points i guess you can say to counter the 4 points from speeding, plus i would have 1 extra point to spare for my next offense, hopefully i don't get caught. But luckily for me i live in Maryland and out of state traffice violations do not get reported back to state in which my drivers license was issued. anyways thats one thing u can try, but good luck with your situation and hope it turns out as best as possible for you.

Try level III traffic school, if u guys have it in AZ. On a side note, how did it feel? Were u trying out the wing? Damn, thats fast. I did 146mph (closed course of course), and i though that was fast.
Anyways, try and kiss butt to the judge(commisioner), I think thats like 2 points on your record.
Good luck!

How exactly did he catch up to you? Most regular cop cars are heavy pigs (no pun indended ) at 120+ mph. I'm guessing you slowed down for him before he got behind you.

I mean when you hit 100 you already knew you were breaking the law, and in most states their are certain requirements for someone (a cop in this case) to pull you over. For example, in Texas, a blue flashing light with siren behind you (at a minimum) is required to pull a car over. So if in a situation like your's, I'd have waited for them to do so. Of course, there are not many cars that could catch up to another car already going 165, let alone a cop car.

the attorney said that if it were like 90 or under that the judge may drop it down but in this case .. no such luck.. She also said in AZ they do not allow you to take traffic school on a criminal offense so I am screwed out of that too.

No I wasnt trying out the wing.. I have a 9rs so I dont have a wing.. but it felt amazing..

Come on there is a loop whole or way to get around every law.. somebody has to know of something

Is speeding the only charge? You said he arrested you, which implies another charge. Did he use radar/laser (or pacing )?

As stated above, any decent attorney can get you a better deal. It might cost you though.

I was on a major freeway and they love to use helicopters out here.. He works for the sheriff's department and they can go as fast as they have to in order to apprehend a suspect.. so Yes when I saw him turn on his lights I said screw it and pulled over.. I figure better to get a class three misdemeanor than a felony..

wow dude that sux, i'd say find a diff lawyer.

on an other note, the chief of Polise where i live told me if i wanted to see how fast my 05 RS went, he would shut down a section of the interstate for me, and have my speed clocked as long as he could ride. PS: my father went to school w/ him, and they raced "back in the day".
