I have been reading a bit around this site and noticed that a lot of you are taking out
your mods once you sell the car. I have also come to know that is not recommended "once modded, stay that way". However what I didn´t know that the dealerships would do this for people.
I am looking for an used Evo to buy, I´d rather not buy a spoiled one. So far I have only asked about two cars but the dealers both told me they had never been modded.
If they where, do you think the dealer would tell me?
Also, do you think a mechanic could tell if the car had been modded?

Were the dealers you visited Mitsubishi dealers? If so they should know if an Evo has been modded or not. One way to find out is ask them about the warranty on the used car, when I bought my Evo there was an used one in the lot, I asked about it and the salesman told me that one has no warranty since it's been modded pretty heavily, but this is at a Mitsubishi dealer though...

I just purchased a 2003 Evo and the first thing I did before the purchase is head over to the Mitsubishi dealership and get them to run the VIN. They can pull up any warranty work that has been done to the car and if the warranty is still available. This would be a great starting point.
