problem solved. went back to best buy today and got trim piece back(they forgot to put it back in the box) and i poped it on my self. fits great. so much for them tellin me it wouldn't fit.

I've learned my lesson with best buy. Thanks for the replys folks

Well u sure did pay extra than wat you coulda got it for. Not to mention that alpines are over priced cheaply made head units.

i paid 75 for the radio. which is not over priced in my book

I have the 9855.No problems with ejecting my cds. I also had Best buy install it too.

therer is a trick to it so you dont have a gap, on the mounting braces the plastic parts on the side of the radio/head unit has a small tab cut that eaven with te side of the of the bracket and the radio will fit almost eaven with the cover. I relocated mine to the lower bay where the gauges where. looks much better and easer to use with hand resting on the shifter. I like the gauges on top thera are easer to read, the head is a cda 9851, i did the instalation.radio.JPGdash.JPG

I have the same stereo, no gap and I did it myself. On the sides of the stock stereo there are brackets on each side of the stereo, that are used to secure the stereo by 4 screws...
these brackets can be removed and attached onto the new alpine unit. (almost as if it was made for the alpine) the brackets screwed right onto the alpine then screws right back in the factory mounting location..
My stereo has no problems at all with fitment, or fuction. hope this helps
