First Ticket in EVO!!!

So I went out tonight with some friends, and naturally they wanted me to rev up my engine. So I obliged them. I did not accelerate hard but ony revved it up and gave it "a little gas" as noted on my citation. The officer was at a bar down the street and stopped me in the middle of the street and called another cop to come in a cruser. They issued me a reckless driving ticket for "fish tailing" my car. I told the officer " It's alll wheel drive it doesnt fish tail" (we all know better than that) and he still gave me a ticket. I did have some to drink (4, 12oz beers) so I had felt lucky but I dont think I should have deserved the citation. As of now I dont know how much it will cost me, State of KY is ghoetto and doesnt list the cost of citations, but I think I will just pay it and be done. I thought I would share my first ticket in my evo with you guys.

oh by the way the cop did compiment the car!!!!

with laws of physics, i think u can fight that ticket...

if fishtailing means losing grip for .1 second and the back end coming out 1mm, you deserve that ticket tho good luck with that man!

Fight it!!!! Why let the system get the better of you, just so that you can be screwed (insurance wise) until the points come off of your liscence? Unless the ground was wet, or your car makes enough power to fishtail from a dead stop, then you know that the ticket is BS. Again, fight it.

Reckless driving is alot of points and not good on your record.
If you have a good record now, get a copy of it and go to court and dress nice. The judge will likely drop it down to improper driving which is much better.

It's people like this, who do not stand up to harrassment, that perpetuate it. If you do not fight this allegedly bogus charge, you give them no reason NOT to go out again tomorrow night and do the same thing over and over.

By the way, Careless and Reckless is a pretty serious citatation in most states resulting in large fines and several points on your insurance.

The officer said that in KY the reckless driving offence takes NO points off my liscence. When they have nothing else on you what is the point of the offence???? Besides the ticket is less than 100$ so I dont really care.

I'll put money on them adding (lol) points onto your liscence. I have never heard of a reckless op. being a minor moving violation. In Ohio, it is 4 points. If you don't fight this, you are doing an injustice to yourself and to everyone on here.

You got the point though.

Yes I should fight it, just to prove my point. However I Dont have a cat, and my exhaust is rather loud so I probobly deserve the ticket.

The court date is on march 1st and I'm moving to Atlanta on the second, so I dont even want to deal with it considering the amount of stress i'm already under.

Then he should have given you a noise violation ticket. A reckless operation, when there was no reckless operation is just harassment. You need to let the cop know that he can't get away with this kind of crap.

If alcohol was nowhere on the ticket, then it is completely off topic. Yes, you were lucky that he didn't make you blow, but he was still giving you a ticket for a B.S. reason.
