How much "Smoother/Softer" does the MR ride than the IX?

I always read that the MR rides smoother than the Evo IX. In your opinion, how much "softer/smoother" does the MR ride compared to the Evo IX. The reason I ask is that I test drove the IX but now I'm thinking the MR might be a better choice in the long run for daily commuting/fun to drive and I don't "track" my cars. Help me out here, 10%? 25%? 30%? Thanks.

I would not say that it rides softer, it just absorbs the bumps better.

XI's lower end torque responses quick and boost comming out faster than the MR IMO, a bit diff gear ratio in bewteen both as well as suspention set up is diff, my cusin has a XI and i own a MR both 06, XI is good for twisty roads and track protential, MR does everything the XI do plus a 6th gear.....

If the only thing you're worried about in the RS/GSR is the ride, for the price difference to an MR, you could have John @ RRE hook you up with some coilovers that you can have setup as you wish, and still be ahead money-wise. It's not a power or drivetrain mod, so your warranty would stay intact.

Just a thought.

I don't know why people can't just answer his question. I own both MR and regular evos and yes, MR feels like there is a little more cushion but the suspension is not soft. It is not as jarring going over speed bumps. Regular evo take people awhile to get used to and is not comfortable for long rides.

I drove the IX MR and the IX RS back to back and the difference was negligible.

I've driven them both. I think the MR takes the harshness out of the ride. The Bilstein suspension seems to absorb jarring road inputs better.
