Moving to NY from CA

Guys need some help here. Anyone here knows about driving an out of state car in NY?

Questions:

1. How long can I drive my car with my Cali license plates and Cali drivers license?

2. Which should I do first, Register my vehicle at DMV NY or convert my drivers license to a NY one?

You have one month to change your license plate when moving from out of state and as far as registering your car or getting new plates, you do that at the DMV in New York when you get there. They should issue you one on the spot at the DMV.

depends on how big of a city your in, if its small they will notice you easy and sooner or later get pulled over....

i drove in fl for almost a year and never got pulled over.... i waited till my ct plates were almost expired.

Some much heresay. Get the facts, check with the DMV in N.Y. Here in Cali you have like 10 days to convert otherwise they can fine you if you get caught.

I did this about 19 years ago and you couldn't pay me to live anywhere outside of California. I loved New York, but my heart is here in Cali now.
