The list keeps going but I think ive made my point. Im done with this thread because no matter what you say or prove to some people they will only believe in what they want to believe. Im sorry that over 2000 american soldiers had to die for that reason, and over 30,000 "liberated" Iraqi civilians. Sleep well tonight with the knowledge that you personally support the people who led them ALL to their end over nothing more then boosting their personal egos along with their bank accounts.
When I wrote this I was pretty dead on.
Without the ozone layer we would still have globaly warming at the same rate. In fact, scientists predict that without the ozone layer the world may cool a marginal amount.
The ozone layer, or ozonosphere (rarely used term), is that part of the Earth's stratosphere which contains relatively high concentrations of ozone (O3). "Relatively high" means a few parts per million - much higher than the concentrations in the lower atmosphere but still small compared to the main components of the atmosphere. The photochemical mechanisms that give rise to the ozone layer were worked out by the British physicist Sidney Chapman in 1930. Ozone in the earth's stratosphere is created by ultraviolet light striking oxygen molecules containing two oxygen atoms (O2), splitting them into individual oxygen atoms (atomic oxygen); the atomic oxygen then combines with unbroken O2 to create ozone, O3. The ozone molecule is also unstable (although, in the stratosphere, long-lived) and when ultraviolet light hits ozone it splits into a molecule of O2 and an atom of atomic oxygen, a continuing process called the ozone-oxygen cycle, thus creating an ozone layer in the stratosphere. Tropospheric ozone has two sources: about 10 % is transported down from the stratosphere while the remainder is created in situ in smaller amounts through different mechanisms.
About 90% of the ozone in our atmosphere is contained in the stratosphere, the region from about 10 to 50km (32,000 to 164,000 feet) above Earth's surface. Ten percent of the ozone is contained in the troposphere, the lowest part of our atmosphere where all of our weather takes place. Ozone concentrations are greatest between about 15 and 40 km, where they range from about 2 to 8 parts per million. If all of the ozone were compressed to the pressure of the air at sea level, it would be only a few millimeters thick.
Although the concentration of ozone in the ozone layer is very small, it is vitally important to life because it absorbs biologically harmful ultraviolet (UV) radiation from the Sun. UV radiation is divided into three categories, based on its wavelength; these are referred to as UV-A, UV-B, and UV-C. UV-C, which would be very harmful to humans, is entirely screened out by ozone at around 35 km altitude.
UV-B radiation is the main cause of sunburn; excessive exposure can also cause genetic damage, resulting in problems such as skin cancer. The ozone layer is very effective at screening out UV-B; for radiation with a wavelength of 290 nm, the intensity at Earth's surface is 350 million times weaker than at the top of the atmosphere. Nevertheless, some UV-B reaches the surface. Most UV-A reaches the surface; this radiation is significantly less harmful, although it can potentially cause genetic damage.
Depletion of the ozone layer would allow more of the UV radiation, and particularly the more harmful wavelengths, to reach the surface, causing increased genetic damage to living things.
Do I need to go on about more facts that prove you to be insanely wrong or can you learn a thing or to for once?
It's been fun but i'm done with this thread. Skilmatic, despite my fervent dislike for your point of view i admire your interest in these things. Debating against people like you is fun, and sometimes even productive.

Why thank you I hoped you learned a few things. And what point of view? That I know alot about your own believed theory? And yes it was fun. I hope your teacher does a better job at teaching you these things. If all you got out of that classroom was that global warming is a scientific fact then I would suggest you get out of that POS college and you can pay me to teach you cause I know I will do a better job. hahaha

Seriously I don't go to a POS college. Wisconsin-Madison is one of the top research universities in the nation. Despite whether or not you went to a better college rank-wise it does not matter, my school is very good. if you are so keen on insulting my school where did you go?

I know I am NOT! I have a springfield 45 1911, a AR15, and a 12gauge that says otherwise. Not to mention, there are many that share my same sentiment all over the US. I will I repeat I will stand up for freedom and liberty and for what is right. How dare these rich pigs take away our rights and what our ancestors laid down their lives for! It makes me want to puke and deficate on thier faces.
If our government tries to take away my rights and/or my guns and ammo I will start a revolution to restore these rights that our ancestors worked for and died for. And the people will run this country once again. The lobbying will be decimated. The rich people will have the same power as a poor person.
I am tired of politicians taking advantage of us. WHAT SAY YOU?

I do know that college. I had a friend that went there and he left after the first semester cause of how liberal it was and how wrong it was in correlation to teaching the facts.
A college is only as good as its teachers. IMO the colleges that were great at one time are now the worst in some cases. I attended a few graduate courses at UCSD and then I attended some classes at my community college and found that the community college was covering more material more indepthly than this supposed great university. Not to mention I learned alot of this stuff watching the discovery and History channel hahaha. I hope you arent waisting your money on a education that I can receive via watching reruns on the H channel hahahaha.

Having 2 sides argue is F-Ing pointless, especially when neither side has any power to make a difference. EVEN IF your arguments are compelling, they will not reach the proper ears as you have 0 power.
Listing the names of fallen service men again does nothing but anger each side towards each other. And even if we WIN this war and everything is hunky dory, we are simply creating a safe world for this CU*T to protest against fallen soldiers that they are going to hell and it was their parents who sent them there, at their Funeral.

and here she is, you want to argue and want to fight? Combine your efforts and END this crazy woman’s tirade who simply goes to soldiers funerals and protests, she really needs to be killed. She has 11 children who constantly do these protests and actually go up to the parents that had their sons/daughters die and tell them that they were sent to hell and scream and yell at all. They celebrate 9-11 like it was gods work against our “***” nation. She is pure evil, and all you want to do is argue over bullsh1t.

You are fighting each other, many agree that George Bush divided this nation and never has the left and the right been so uncooperative with each other. She is anti Catholic as well and really is a religious nut who attacks anything in her path. I say your efforts are wasted, go attack this woman.
Immagine showing up to a Soldiers Funerial and seeing this happen.

But on a side note, this proves my point, people in this thread were calling me a liberal nutjob but my feelings on this issue are very conservative. The fact is that nothing is either black or white, there are many sides to different issues and people who blindly accept one way of thought simply because the person telling them something is also a republican, democrat, conservative or whatever they may be is just as bad as the people who listend to Hitlers orders to exterminate the jews, or the people who blow themselves up while killing innocent civilians cause their "leader" told them thats the right thing to do.

and here she is, you want to argue and want to fight? Combine your efforts and END this crazy woman’s tirade who simply goes to soldiers funerals and protests, she really needs to be killed. She has 11 children who constantly do these protests and actually go up to the parents that had their sons/daughters die and tell them that they were sent to hell and scream and yell at all. They celebrate 9-11 like it was gods work against our “***” nation. She is pure evil, and all you want to do is argue over bullsh1t.

Also if you were so highly edumacated how come you made a statement that was compiled with utter lunacy? Not to mention I am the only one that has posted actual facts and knowledge that people can learn from. The only thing you have posted so far is your own opinions. I have posted my knowledge in learning these things with evidenciary support.
ALSO FAHKENEVO, **** are the least of my worries. And that woman I do agree with you needs to be shot and put 6ft under.
You might be surprised I actually agree with you on this. The 2nd amendment was put in place to protect the people from an out of control government. I respect that right and believe that law abiding citizens should be allowed to own as many guns as they want, cause everyone already knows the criminals have the guns anyway. I actually wish concealed carry was legal where I live as long as you pass some type of proper gun saftey and psychoanalysis test. I live in Brooklyn, New York City and criminals walk the streets with uzi's yet if I was caught carrying a weapon I legally own I would be put in jail. That I do not agree with, I should be able to protect myself from criminals and a dictatorship just the same.

I agree with you here too. I think everyone who loves this country and loves the ideals of this country can find a common ground and a common goal even though we may have different opinions on things. I used to live in QB. I definitely understand where you are coming from. Brooklyn is full of people who have some huge fire power. I lived in some rough neighborhoods in my time and I understand the danger aspect and the need to protect yourself.
However, there is no grey area about politicians taking away our rights it is plainly wrong! That is a fact. And it needs no debating about.

But you know what, as MUCH as I think these people are the absolute scum of the earth I respect their RIGHT to voice their opinion, thats what America is all about after all. BUT, I think a situation like what they put families at a funeral through should be dealt with on a personal level, even if its against the law to do it, there has to be a line somewhere. Let them come down to Brooklyn and try to yell in some mother of a dead soldiers face or say 9/11 was great, I gaurantee they wont get out of there with the same # of people they showed up with.

Im sorry that over 2000 american soldiers had to die for that reason, and over 30,000 "liberated" Iraqi civilians. Sleep well tonight with the knowledge that you personally support the people who led them ALL to their end over nothing more then boosting their personal egos along with their bank accounts.
Our soldiers, primarily Republican BTW, believe in the mission. For the neo-socialists to wave their dead bodies in the air and sling them at Bush is dishonest. The soldiers that died in battle have died for a just cause and died doing what they love to do, fight.
FYI--No battle has been as clean and efficient, in the history of warfare, as Operation Iraqi Freedom.

They stood on a street corner in sight of the church and waved signs with messages such as "God Hates the USA" and "Don't Worship the Dead."
But even as they unfolded their signs, their protest was met with a counter protest that erupted in a full-throttle roar.
About 70 members of the leather-clad American Legion Riders from Kansas and Oklahoma revved their motorcycles for about 30 minutes, drowning out anything the church members tried to say.
Cregg Hansen, a Vietnam-era veteran who helped lead the counter protest, said Doles' family had wanted to hear the engines' roar. The riders said they plan to do the same if the group attempts to disrupt other soldiers' funerals within riding distance.
