How do you drive by Lancers or other cars
Evo owners/drivers are the best! Whether their car is stock or tuned, I love how there is a mutual respect for one another! I always get waves/high beams from local Evos - it's great to know someone loves your car as much as you do.
The funny thing for me is, I usually drive a 1996 ford ranger w/ 220,000 miles....
I see an EVo and give them a thumbs up and stuff and they look at me like I'm a dork... HAHAHAH!
I guess they won't know I have a 03 BBY sitting in my garage at home.. oh well... hehehe

I think a lot of people in Lancers are just... 'regular' people. They don't even know what the EVO is. If you see somebody in an OZ... then chances are... they'd be driving an EVO if they could afford it. I usually nod or wave. I would never try to blow past them to "show them who's boss". I could care less.
In general I try not to react to the other cars on the road. The only exception really is other EVOs. When I see another EVO I go out of my way to look over and wave. I usually wave to STi's too... because they definitely know what's going on. (That whole Subaru / Mitsu rivalry thing doesn't exist in my book... I love STi's... if I had a ton of money... I'd probably have one of each
)
Other than that... I will definitely check out heavily modded cars... just because I'm curious. If I see something pretty fast on the road (Carrera 4s, modded M3, some Z's, a pimped Supra...) I look over and smile. And if the conditions are right... some throttle will be applied.
But only when I feel it'll be a challenge. I'd never step up to something that I was sure I could blow away. One exception:
A few weeks ago I was driving from NJ to Mass late at night. A white Honda Accord that looked reasonably modified pulled up next to me with 3 dudes inside. At first I just kind of glanced over but didn't react. They car kept racing past me then slowing down (and the rest of the highway was empty) and the guys kept looking over. So the next time he accelerated I stepped on the gas just enough to keep up. Each time he accelerated, I gave it just enough to keep perfectly even (meanwhile pretending I wasn't even paying attention). I'm not sure... but eventually I got the feeling that the guy was flooring it, and I was barely breaking a stride. I started to think: "they have no idea what they got themselves into". So then I basically decided that it was my duty to show them what an EVO was capable of. I floored it "whoosh" and went from about 85 - 105 real quick... and he basically looked like he was standing still. I wasn't trying to humiliate him or anything... just thought they should know... there wasn't really any competition there. A couple minutes later they caught up to me again and just looked over and they were laughing. (I couldn't resist... I floored it to about 110 again just for fun... we had the highway to ourselves... no harm done). All in the name of good fun.
(Sorry for the long post).

My impression of drivers of regular Lancers is, as someone said above, that most of them don't particularly care about cars. I ignore them. Now, if their car is the OZ or Rallyart, I figure they may be into their cars, but they're not gonna appreciate my condescension. So, again, I ignore them.

Locally there are some drivers that couldn't afford an EVO, so they get the Lancer, and buld it from there. I know we have some very polite drivers that will take off from a light or haul past them just because they are in an EVO and the other is in a Lancer. So my whole point was, I don't want to come across as some stuck up fella thinking I am king of the road because I have an EVO? It's just a car, and that doesn't make you more special.

one night, i was driving slow and i see this lancer trying to squeeze into traffic to catch up with me. i told my self here "we go again" and after messing with me trying to race me, i said o.k. i'll give you a taste stepped on the gas and go. after we stopped at the stop light, she turned on her indoor lights, and i i just saw a beautiful angel smiling at me. after that she waved good by at me and merged to far left. it's too late that i cant catch the lane and follow her coz she's hittin on me. oh well, i was heart broken that night
I usually wave to other Evo's and Lancers. Sometimes I get a wave back or sometimes I get that "what the heck you waving at me for you POS Lancer" lol.... I always look up to my big brother counterpart and give him respect
I just hate the guys that think I want to race or show em up... I'm like dude I know your faster....get over it!

Well, I cant give my story about waving @ an evo, I've only seen 1 on the road and that was yesterday in Baltimore, MD on a charter bus coming back from a fieldtrip, another car buddy of mine was across the bus from me and we jst both freaked
it was an 05 GG MR and I felt like my day was going great
and of course I wave @ the other OZ guys around here-all 2 of them
which jst happen to be the same year and color as mine (02 OZ)...

I usually waive at WRX/STi's too, but they rarely return the favor, bastards.
+1...lol...
