So what's stopping you? I for one think that this country would be much better off if a term of military service was required like some other countries do. A buddy of mine from Spain told me that every man has to serve atleast 3 years in their military. That might get rid of a lot of the anarchist attitudes we have in our country from punks that think the world is against them and want everything to change but don't want to do anything to help change it. But what do I know LOL.

I like having teh ability to think for myself instead of answering to a heirarchy and so on. I can make MUCH MUCH more money and enjoy freedom with my education and financial status. I know what the Military personality is, most of my family has been in one branch or another except my side, which all went to college and so on, military was just a thing other people did. I suppose if the country were in dire straights and it became an us or them mentality I woudl join.

The problem is I do not support our governments direction of the military. Staying OUT of Saudie Arabia? Outing a dictator with no plan to replace with anyhting but a full military occupation?

It's like, WW2, cut and dry, us or them, you fight against a known enemy. I view this new military action as a Vietnam entry and I can all but guarantee that we will pull out, and nothing will change. Now if we would go against some real issues, I would, but I could not in good spirits fight in a war I do not believe it, and would you want someone like me to?

OK my EVO is finally out of the impound. It looks like the cops tore up my interior kind of bad, there was mud and dirt everywhere. The front bumper is in sad shape, there isn't any paint left on the bottom and it is sagging because a bunch of the clips broke off. The plastic undertray is really scratched up bad, hopefully nothing under the undertray was bent or damaged. The towing company is claiming that they are not responsible since the car is lowered and I had expired tags. So at this point I have to decide whether or not it is worth legally pursuing the damage costs...I doubt the lawyer fees will be less than the actual damage costs so I guess I will just have to suck it up and fix it myself. I am going to file a complaint at the police station and with the ACLU. I also am going to show up the court date to defend myself against the $280.00 fine. This has been one sad weekend.

I still think you should get a lawyer. That is total BS.

I'll post photos of the damage tonight. Luckily I am handy with a body work, so it won't be too expensive...

That's a bunch of crap. sorry that happend to you man. Some cops are just *******s. I noticed towing companies are RARELY very careful with your car at all. I would at LEAST file a complaint about the officers. I think they were out of line.

I would get a lawyer, if you win defendant will have to pay those so it pretty much won't cost you anything.

This is a pretty sad story, I hope you do get a lawyer and something decent will come out of it.

Get a lawyer, and bring them the papers stating that they are being sued. They will cop a plea because if they lose, it will establish a precedent. You can even sue them yourself, just take them to small claims court and serve them with papers and state that you had no choice in the matter and in NO WAY does that allow them to damage your property.

SUE SUE SUE, I did, I have won, do it. If you need help, PM me, you will win, the tow company is LIEING to take advantage of you, save all your recipts, talk to a lawyer and sue

Thanks for the advice, I think I shall take them to small claims court at the very least.
I have prepaid legal (for legal advice and discounted legal representation) so hopefully they will be able to give me some advice on the lawsuit. I don't know why they would think they aren't responsible, if you damage someone's property you have damaged someone's property and that is illegal. Just because my car had expired tags doesn't give them the right to damage my car. I should just burn the tow company and the police station to the ground and be done with it

Keep us updated, SUE, dont give up. The toe company would do ANYTHING to not get a judgement against them nor do they have the time to spend in court. They will pay you, I promise. Did you read that contract you signed to get your car back?

They tried to make me sign a document that waived any damages done to the vehicle, I outright refused to sign it. I then showed them the damage done to the car and they even admitted that they did the damage, but still claimed no responsibility for it since I was the one at fault zipping around with expired tags (wtf). They let me take my car even though I didn't sign their damage release form or whatever the hell that thing is for. Thanks again for the advice, maybe I won't come out totally screwed on this situation.
