I tried AtuoX in a Viper...absolute act in futility. The shorter and tighter the track the better for the smaller lighter cars for sure, but power is always good...that's the driver's responsibility. The Evo tends to understeer really bad, the S2k likes to oversteer real bad. The oversteer is faster for sure, but requires more driver involvement. I tracked the Evo TWO TIMES and decided that it was too heavy and too much work to get the brakes to hold up, and the understeer dialed out and still be my street car. That was with a large rear sway and Ohlins on the car. So I added leather Sparcos, some dynamat, and it's a great street car...my favorite thus far.

 

Apparently the idiot that got the decel noise out of his Evo...he's one step up on me! How did you get rid of that noise boosted? I am yanking out the transfer case and tranny and rebuilding both...is that a good start?

No you dont have to correct me because I just got done correcting you. I just quoted you from a formidable source which I can give you a link to. Your link on the other hand is a dead link. Also I dont know of one stock s2000 that can even hang with my stock 9 on the freeway. I know this cause I have a friend with a semi modded s2000 that ran me on the freeway and I destroyed it. His was an 04. If you want to compare weight, hp, tq, yaw, roll, and coil pressure specs you will find that the s2000 is definitely a lessor vehicle all around. I mean even our weight dis. is far better.

 

Not all that is true. Also the difference in speed on the freeway is not that drastic, unless he had the top down...then he drops like an anchor. HUUUGE difference on those cars, top up vs. top down. The S2000 comes with a much better suspension, the suspension on the Evo is the first thing you change...it sucks. From a standing start the cars are not even close...on the freeway the cars get much closer than you are claiming. Just because you have ONE buddy with an S2000 doesn't make you an authority, stock vs. stock the cars' performance is closer than you think. (again..other than a standing start)

 

Nope, one buddy is one example I cna basically name off a dozen others. However, I do understand there is a large part on the driver but the facts from formidable sources and from what happens in real life experiences are more than enough evidenciary support for me. I mean we cna go back and forth all day. A stock s2000 has around 240crank hp and probably 215whp while the stock evo 9 was just dynoed at around 270whp and is awd. I dont quite see the closeness here. And furthermore the s2000 is a great car IMHO but its not as good as the evo thats what I am conveighing. Also IMO the s2000 has a looser suspension. Its better for turning but not handling and entering and exiting turns. Meaning the s2000 will be able to turn sharper then the evo but the ability to handle turns in a racing aspect will be shabby compared to the evo.

 

Skilmatic, I wouldn't even worry about it. The S2000 is a over priced Miata, that is more a cruiser that anything else.

 

so just this weekend, almost like it was fate, A silver s2k with dual shinny mufflers challenged me. We were doing 70, and he took off on me. I downshifted into 4th and walked away from him. (I guess someone forgot to inform me that EVOs don't have any top end) Then I kept pulling until I got bored. It was almost like he was a member of s2ki looking to prove something. ...actually, if I think about it, he did prove something. That S2ks will not take an EVO... stoplight, roll, whatever.

...and all I have is a K&N drop in filter.

Yeah, nightwalker, I can basically tell a dozen stories like that too. The s2k isnt a bad car its just factually inferior to the evos. Thats all I am saying. I know the potential of the s2k and it is a great car its just people are trying to deny the fact that it is inferior.

 

Listen...it's like this on any board you visit. AMG guys think think the BMW M guys suck and vice versa. Viper guys think Vette guys suck and vice versa, but the reality is the S2000 is a great car and does a lot of things much better than the Evo. Loose suspension? That is idiotic. It's a cruising car? Whaaa? You guys have no clue. Since i have owned more cars than years you have been on the planet, I'll let you in on a little secret. The Evo is one B!THCIN' car, but it ain't as cool as you want to make believe it is...so the more "my car is better than your car" crap you spit out, and then back it with complete and utter stupidity like the posts above just lets me and everybody that actually has some experience behind them know just how ignorant you are. What you are experiencing isnt experience. Its called denial my friend. Keep yourself in denial mode. You say it does things much better than evo. Well just name 1 thing it does better. Just one. I have a feeling my hair will turn grey faster than you can tell me.

Alright just last week i raced an S2000 with a supercharger and all the supporting mods on it and beat him by about a bus length this was from a second gear roll, we did it that way to even out the odds. My car has 280 cams and all the supporting mods for them.
