Would anybody be up for an EVO vs. S2000 Competition?

Thats why I asked, I Dont feel like it. LOL
It isnt a competition based on what is fair, it isnt necessary. An S2k versus maybe a Miata or something in the same class....I dont know, see my point though?

Basically the S2k has a structual "backbone" running through the middle of the car, so it can be a convertable without the performance losses of being one.
As for the competition, I think it would be pretty cool if it went down. Isn't autoX and time attack basically the same thing? Also where is this going to go down at?
S'all good cloud, however, despite the good design of the S2K doesnt make it any tougher of a competitor in my book.
This is my opinion, and I san say that very few convertibles in recent memory have ever been highly competitive cars.
The Late Racin Jason Betwarda had a 7.0 Second White Convertible Mustang
Thats about it for seriously competivie vehicles, but that was a full on race car on top of that.
Now, Im not discredting the S2K as a potent and capable car....however, I find that the Evo has a running start from the factory.
It is NOT an econobox...matter of fact, looking at the brakes, engine, drivetrain, wheels, tires, materials it is produced with, I'd say the Evo by far is the car that is designed for just such competitions, and it has been decided that the Evo is even a superior car in some ways to even a Skyline. The skyline's are power monsters, but the newer Evo chassis are becoming more widely used as racecars....and there are a fair share of S2K's but the proof is in the pudding.

By the way, I figure if this were to get set up I'll do the camera work. Im still practicing, but this would be a great attempt for me to do something worthwhile. I'd even write it out in to article form....
Lets try this!
Why dont we assemble a group of amateurs and do a magazine style test ourselves?
Cars that dont normally compete with each other, like Evo's and S2K's....
Any ideas?

If you compare a bone stock IX RS vs a bone stock S2K
I think the S2k has its hands full. I think the extra power in the IX
+ the Mivec, and lighter weight of the RS could give a s2k a run for its money.
I think the potential of the IX RS is also > then the S2k. What other car can you
find that gains 30-40whp with just a reflash, not to mention the extra 70-80 hp in the midrange?

Wow... did you guys read that artical on the homepage of that site?
Why a S2k is better then an Evo? I didn't know someone that ignorant could
run a site as big as that one. Then again, it must not be doing to well with all
the ads between posts...

Although I don't like the bashing part of the article, some of what he said about s2k being superior in certain areas are true. I depend evo over at s2ki.com too. I guess the performance differences on tracks (except drags) contribute much less to the results than driver differences.
